Americans for Tax Reform head Grover Norquist says that large-scale immigration is good for America and the Republican Party — and that critics of easy immigration should get out of the way.
“There are a whole bunch of people who are listening to loud voices, some of whom claim to be Republican … talking about [employers] who didn’t fill out the paperwork, about going after [an immigrant's] aunt,” said Norquist, whose opposition to tax increases has made him popular among Republicans and a hate-figure among progressives.
Once advocates for tighter immigration are sidelined, the GOP will be able to win votes from Hispanics and other recent immigrants, he said.
“Removing that threat [of deportation] from millions of Americans will make it possible to have a conversation with [immigrants] about tax policy and spending, and all the other issues we have with legal Americans.”
But his critics are numerous and equally vehement.
“Grover is an extremely effective lobbyist … [and] the thing about Grover is that he has clients who make big money off of immigration,” said Roy Beck, founder of advocacy group NumbersUSA, a non-partisan group which helped derail previous efforts to expand immigration.
“Grover is going to do everything in his power to prevent America having a middle class … it appears he thinks oligarchy is a better way to go. … You can’t have a Republican Party when you have a voting base that is impoverished and needs government assistance.”
Norquist has been pushing to rewrite immigration policy for many years, and he’s got his arguments down cold.

I'm sad to say that I'm not hearing about all of the jobs American citizens would or could have if employers were forced to rid the companies of the illegals on their staff, and fill the, with those seeking employment.
During these time of high unemployment, high medical and education costs, raising taxes to cover all government costs, I'm shocked none of the conservatives even bother to bring ip those issues.
Either they are too stupid to connect the dots or they are being threatened by GOP leadership, or both!

There’s one of the problems...Reed, Norquist, Rove...they ARE the GOP leadership! McConnell, Bonner dance to their tunes! Norquist WROTE Bush’s amnesty. Norquist got Abramoff and all the radical muslims into Bush’s white house.

That was strange, you seem to be anti-immigration but then defend and support the most pro-immigration people in America, the people who don’t even want to call it immigration, but simply want to open the borders period.
The libertarians have not changed their permanent position on immigration. It is exactly the same, so don’t lie to these people to promote immigration.

Not me, I want to greatly reduce immigration, there is no reason to replace ourselves with an endless flood of the world's masses.
Add another 100 million to that number. When they are citizens, they can then bring up mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, et al, thanks to Ted Kennedy's Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965. That one allows family members to "come on down" and enjoy America's taxpayer funded freebies. Those of retirement age can immediately go on Social Security without have to work those pesky 40 quarters. If they're crippled, they can immediately go on SSI. Even legals play this game.
Then the politicians will say that Social Security is going broke faster than expected and taxes will have to be raised.
In the meantime, those "new Americans" join the blacks on the Democratic Plantation and vote forever for their benefactors.
Goodbye America, as we have known it.
When these assholes decide to do the "Big Tent Routine", albeit for sex deviates, child murderers, criminals (including Illegal Immigrants), and 4th generation inner-city tribal parasites, you can see that there is NO DIFFERENCE in the "2 Parties"; ie, they just pander for votes to keep them in Power and keep them employed, on the backs of TAXPAYERS.

And don’t forget these were the same type of morons that, in 1986, told us a small amnesty would “stop all illegal immigration for the future” and “guarantee employers do not hire illegals” with the useless I-9 form.
Has any business ever been audited on the I-9 form? None to my knowledge and I’ve worked at luxury hotels!
