A Way Out of the Wilderness for the GOP
American Thinker ^ | February 6, 2013 | Ed Lasky

Posted on 02/06/2013 12:54:09 AM PST by neverdem

Republicans hold a weak hand in Washington but a stronger grip in states where voters have entrusted them with power. Performances there can boost not just the Republican image but bring the party back to power in Washington. More importantly, they can show conservative principles work. The "Red State Model" can, in the Wall Street Journal's words, "Drive Republican Revival."

Walter Russell Meade, one of our most brilliant thinkers, has written quite perceptively about the collapse of what he calls "the blue model." These are states that have been firmly in the hands of the Democratic Party and their allies (unions-especially public employee unions; special interest groups -- environmentalists among them). Together they have created a tax, spend and borrow model of governance that is leading to fiscal chaos. Policies have been adopted that have created a hostile business climate that has cramped growth and blighted the future of the middle class.

Prospects for these states are so dim there has been not just an exodus of their "best and brightest" (blue states are heavily dependent on taxing high-income people who have options to migrate to redder pastures) out of them, but a collapse in fertility rates, as well. When the future is bleak and the cost of living in the present is too high, people don't have children.

Liberals may caterwaul about a sustainable environment but seemingly couldn't care less about sustainable families or a sustainable future or a sustainable state.

These are states that are collapsing under the weight of liberal policies. While the fiscal condition of the Democrat-controlled federal government and blue state governments is horrendous, many Republican-controlled states are swimming in surpluses (there is a threat blue states will use their power in Washington to extract, courtesy of red-state workers, a massive bailout)...

The GOP has a way out of the wilderness... BUT..
it’s on a stretcher with two RINOs carrying it...

The cigarette the GOP is puffing on WENT OUT...

What a world we live in. It is now considered a brilliant insight to recognize that big gov't ends up strangling the economy.

The GOP will never be popular with the masses, in the same way the Democrats are, until they can figure out some way to sell citizenships in exchange for votes, hand out cash to their friends at taxpayer expense, and appeal to the lowest common denominator of both character and intelligence among the electorate.

In other words, in an age when corruption is endemic to society, Republicans are, quite simply, too honest to survive.

We're in the Wilderness?

We lost by 3.8% to Obama.

We had Romney, and Obama had the passionate support of almost every news organization in the entire world.

We maintained our majority of state governors, state legislatures, and in the House of Representatives.

We have only two political threats:

(1) Immigration - because new citizens vote 80% for the Democrat Party.

(2) The MSM - because after 40 years of being a punching bag for media elites, the GOP still has NO national strategy to fight back!

SIN is a reproach to ANY Nation.
Proverbs 14:34b

'Corruption' is merely one side effect of SIN. (Don't look for this word anywhere in media today. You can find all sorts of EVIL being described; but it is NEVER attributed to SIN.)

This nation will thrash about; looking for an ANSWER anywhere but returning to GOD.

How far will we have to sink before we wise up?

IF...

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, who are called by my name,
shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways; ,

then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land.

The OTHER part of Proverbs 14:34a...

Righteousness exalts a nation...

We absolutely have to get past the delusion that GOP-e is a punching bag. They are collaborators with the left. GOP-e and the Socialists are playing good-cop-bad-cop to steal our votes.

Absolutely correct! We have reached a tipping point in our Country, and nothing short of revolution (which will not happen) will stop the Marxist onslaught. Very sad.

The GOP is finished......period!

It has been completely destroyed by various diseases such as:
Political correctness.
Fear of doing anything that may be called racial.
Sensitivity of the needs of special groups and cultures.
Entitlements.
Special rights for all but male whites.
Woman’s movement.
Gay rights.
Pandering to “fat cats.”
And.....a whole host of others.

The most destructive disease is FEAR! They fear EVERYTHING! Consequently they will not take any real meaningful action on anything...only go along to get along.

The GOP walked away from the average working, law abiding, responsible voter many years ago.

There are millions of middle and lower income citizens who have completely given up on wasting their time to vote due to the fact it does not matter for the GOP won’t represent them on any matter. A case in point.....Gun Control or immigration invasion.

What ACTUAL physical action has been taken by the GOP to stop these actions in their tracts. Answer: NOTHING!

In fact, they have happily joined in on the compromise train and gleefully join with the enemy (Democrats,Communists, Marxists, Socialists, Liberals and a host of others) all of whom want PEOPLE CONTROL.

I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as a RINO any longer. Republican In Name Only no longer applies since the Republican party has become the little sissy down the street that everyone gives a “wedgie” every day and has their lunch money extorted from them. Worse yet, they always dance to the tune played by Daddy Warbucks.

SISSYS! That’s what they have become and it is destroying our heritage, freedoms and lifestyles. They are no different than the Democrats today.

The “Democratic” party calls us what it likes. - So, I decided a long time ago that I will call it the “DEMOCRAT” party. - May be a rather small issue; but many people tend to equate the Republican Party with the “publicans and sinners” in the Bible, and the DEMOCRAT party with being “democratic and more for the poor people”, and also as heroes of the civil rights and women’s movement . . with the Republican Party being demonized and cast as rich thugs.

Here in Pennsylvania Gov. Corbett has succeeded in correcting the fiscal mess that Rendell left us, pushed privatization of the state lottery and liquor stores, and tackle the pension fund debt head on. For that he has been relentlessly attacked by the media, the unions and of course, the Democrats. His reward has been an approval rating of around 34%. This is what happens when a Republican follows through on his campaign promises, This same scenerio is playing out across the country. Just ask Gov.John Kasich in Ohio...

Conservatism is a winner just about everytime. The problem is that the GOP leadership hates conservatism as much as the Democrat leadership. The GOP wins by mouthing conservative slogans but governs as the big government lefty statists they are and soon lose all credibility. The leadership has rigged the system against conservatives within the GOP. The only solution is to dump the GOP.

I’m 81, I go back as an active Republican campaigner to before Nixon and then to Goldwater/Reagan .While I have a website I’ve been using FR’s as my blog. I retired after Reagan won and moved out of state but before that I ran successful campaigns for state and local legislative offices. In the Reagan campaigns assisted the state chair in developing campaign pieces for Reagan’s successful bid both in the primary and the general elections where I’ve been told by John L Waner* some of my stuff is in the Reagan library. The state was Illinois, the city Chicago. If my stuff is there or not I don’t know for certain but that’s what John told me.* Regional HUD director under Nixon

First of all guys like Rove and others ignored the mechanicss of basic campaigning. They allowed the M.ainline S.ocialist M.edia to drive the issues and are still doing so they learned nothing from their disasters.

These people I call them GOPES because it rhymes with dopes right now are falling into the same trap. Limbaugh and Levin, God bless themm ...realize that what Limbaugh calls the LIV’s (low intelligence voters) actually believe that Obama is offering the preverbial “olive branch” to Republicans when actually he is proceeding on his path to complete socialism. AND THEY CAN’T CALL HIM A LIAR .

This administration came up with a policy on energy which had driven up the cost on everything. It was on the tounge of every black, white. yellow, and brown skined person living in the US....IT WENT UNTOUCHED in the 2012 campaign....WORSE YET IT IS STILL GOING UNCHALLANGED

Now the GOPES are buying into the “demographic” argument offered by the MSM. Here you have an issue staring at them straight in the face affecting every man, woman, and child of every skin color and you can’t bring it up and they talk about “demographics” being pushed by the socialist media .

They should be decrying the philosphy of “demographics” by stating they’re Americans first not Afro-Americans. not Hispanic-Americans and not-Asian-Americans, or “White”-Americans. The counter charge should be these are socialist tactics neing pushed by the hypenated Demo-coms. Democrats in socialist/fascist clothing.

Nuts....
