EXCLUSIVE: Justice Dept...reveals legal case for drone strikes on Americans [No Due Process]
NBC ^ | 2/4/13 | Michael Isikoff

Posted on 02/05/2013 2:45:39 AM PST by SoFloFreeper

A confidential Justice Department memo concludes that the U.S. government can order the killing of American citizens if they are believed to be “senior operational leaders” of al-Qaida or “an associated force” -- even if there is no intelligence indicating they are engaged in an active plot to attack the U.S.

The 16-page memo, a copy of which was obtained by NBC News, provides new details about the legal reasoning behind one of the Obama administration’s most secretive and controversial polices: its dramatically increased use of drone strikes against al-Qaida suspects, including those aimed at American citizens, such as the September 2011 strike in Yemen that killed alleged al-Qaida operatives Anwar al-Awlaki and Samir Khan. Both were U.S. citizens who had never been indicted by the U.S. government nor charged with any crimes.

The secrecy surrounding such strikes is fast emerging as a central issue in this week’s hearing of White House counterterrorism adviser John Brennan, a key architect of the drone campaign, to be CIA director.

The US/NATO created Al Qaeda in the late seventies to fight the Russians. The US/NATO is using Al Qaeda on this very day to overthrow the legitimate government of Syria, which has never attacked the USA.

The Patriot Act, the NDAA, the DHS, and the TSA were never about going after Al Qaeda. It was always intended, since its creation by Bush, to go be used to go after the American people, specifically gun owners, libertarians, conservatives, returning vets and anyone else that resists.

I wonder if this policy would have authorized a drone strine at Ruby Ridge?

Once they declare the Tea Party a terrorist group they can hunt us down and assassinate us with abandon.

Bunk

Troops wouldn’t know who’s the good guy is and who’s the bad guy is. They would only know what they have been told and they would disarm everyone. Anyone fires on them when they are doing it is the bad guy no matter what side it is.

The troops job would be to restore order, and they would do it.

Perhaps.

But based on how I know my classmates feel about this, and politics and general, I think a non inconsequential portion of our troops, particularly among the officer corps, would disobey.

No.

Had the Clinton’s successfully tied Tim McVeigh with muslim/Iraqi govt. terrorist to wage war against the US, then so called “right wing extremist” tied to McVeigh and muslim/Iraqi govt. terrorist could be targeted since it would be an act of war.

This is why every time there is a mass killing they look for some vague identification with the Tea Party. If they can prove anyone with a Tea Party affiliation has done some kind of mass killing, they can label all of us terrorists and send drones out to hunt us down and kill us.

They seem to be in a helluva hurry to take away our guns. They can declare anyone who ever went to a Tea Party rally either a terrorist or a mentally ill person and confiscate our guns. Then they can order assassination strikes against us.

These are the Times that try men’s souls.

You start massive civil unrest in cities followed with terrorist attacks from foreign terrorist and making it appear as if the attacks are coming from all different sides, the troops will do what needs to be done to stop it.

The troops will be on the side the “peaceful” innocent civilians caught up in the turmoil.

The left boo-hooed all day for those idiots. But they weren't executed--today, Obama and his thug Eric the red are killing Americans THEY "deem" to be dangerous.

Remember how the left went after Lawyers John Woo and Bybee, the authors of the legal memo for "roughing up" the terrorist? Oh the outcry and knashing of teeth from the RATS - "Americans do not torture". Even Jon McLame had to join his fellow RATS and denounce the GWB regime.

On 4/11/08, George Bush told ABC News he personally approved of the approval of torture - including waterboarding - by Dick Cheney, Condoleeza Rice, Donald Rumsfeld, Colin Powell and George Tenet.

Bush said, "Yes, I'm aware our national security team met on this issue. And I approved."

You would think a President confessing to war crimes would be on the front pages of all the nation's newspapers, and all over their editorial pages - not just on Countdown and The Daily Show.

Bing or Google "Congressional democrats go after john woo and bush legalized torture" and see what is returned.

Globe Staff / April 24, 2009
WASHINGTON - Congressional Democrats and activist groups turned up the pressure on the Obama administration yesterday to pursue investigations or prosecutions of Bush administration officials who authorized brutal interrogations of terrorist suspects.

Homeland InSecurity has officially named vets and constitutionalists domestic terrorist enemies. Holder has tried to frame ‘milita’ members for domestic terrorist crimes and lost in court. With this power, Obama could murder them without a trial. Democrats have called both the Tea Party and the NRA terrorist organizations. In the meantime a real jihadist murdered soldiers at Fort Hood and Obama named that workplace violence.

Liberals are unethical liars and conivers, they can not be trusted with this power to rationize the murder of Americans they don’t like.

Indeed. At least we have the solace of knowing that the choices involved are crystal clear, and that our side is in the right.

After reading homeland security wants to use drones on the hundred mile border I wonder if they mean one hundred miles inside the US. If so, I am worried. Repeal the patriot act for heavens sake! They are coming to kill us.

Deep in the heart of every leftist is the desire to use the power of the State to murder those that disagree with them or refuse to acknowledge their supremacy.

Just as the question -

which car would be safer, one with an 0bama sticker at a Tea Party event, or one with a Romney sticker at an OWS event?

- has an obvious answer, so does this one -

which would be more likely,
a drone strike within the borders of America by a conservative president on a known leftist,
or a drone strike within the borders of America by a leftist president on a known conservative?

Nonsense. Serrano introduces a bill to repeal the 23rd amendment every Congress, regardless of who is President. It’s his pet project, and it never goes anywhere.
