Amid the parties and fun of Super Bowl 2013, authorities say, there is a dark underworld of girls and women being forced into the sex trade. Sitting in the festive lobby of a New Orleans hotel, festooned with San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens decorations, Clemmie Greenlee, a former victim of sex trafficking from Nashville, recalled being brought to cities around the South to prostitute for those attending such large-scale events.

For Greenlee's pimps, the influx of people provided a massive money-making opportunity.

"When they come to these kinds of events, the first thing you're told is how many you're gonna perform a day," she said Friday. "You've got to go through 25 men a day, or you're going through 50 of them. When they give you that number, you better make that number."

Wouldn’t they only mention the Super Bowl b/c it just occured. When the World Cup played in 2010 there were tons of articles on sex trafficing. Same with Olympics.

I don’t recall the articles mentioning sex trafficking and the Olympics and World Cup. I also don’t know of any articles/media/POS pushing to change or eliminate the World Cup or the Olympics. I have no issue whatsoever discussing sex trafficking. However, I do have an issue linking the two. Anything and I mean anything negative that can be said about football is being done so right now. This is just another example.

I see what you are saying and I agree with you about football being attacked lately. But you are wrong concerning other sports. Google ‘Sex Trafficing World Cup 2010’ and you will find multitudes of articles. Same with Olympics. They are all big events. And big events draw sex trafficing. The superbowl just happened to be the most recent.

...against the blue-noses and moralists on the right who would curtail their economic freedom?

Think she gets to keep what she gets? Think again. If she makes her quota, she gets fed (maybe) and free drugs to keep her numb. Other than that, the pimp takes it all. Oh yeah, he buys her cloths too. He turns her out in the cheapest cloths so she always looks like a "two bit ho". The $1000 a night call girls who dress like movie stars are in a different world then that of these throw away women.

Football denigrates itself way more than its critics. I still root for the Bills (insert joke here) but it’s clear that football is filled with criminals and druggies.
