The penalty for OFFENSIVE holding in the end zone is a safety. The penalty for defensive holding is 5 yards (or half the distance) and a first down. The play was another case of one team cheating, and the refs letting it go because they cheated when it most mattered.

The Ravens owe those refs a ring of their own.

Claimed stat amendment due to overzealous posting while drinking last night :)...

The Flacco post season 9 wins stat of being tied for third (with Peyton Manning) should have been qualified as among ACTIVE quarterbacks, and it's Roethlisberger just ahead of them at 2nd with 10 post season wins. Flacco is now tied at 10th best post season wins for QBs all time - and again is only in his 5th year. See NFL starting quarterback playoff records.

The Baltimore offense is pretty young aside from Anquan Boldin, so that bodes well for Flacco's future stats. What doesn't bode well is their aging defense, although there are a few bright young spots there already as well, especially in the secondary.

Yeah but I’ve not seen any cars turned over, set on fire or store fronts broken in and looted in Baltimore.

In San Francisco the police were expecting those things if they won.

Oh that one. Really that’s a play they’d been letting go all game. And given how Crabtree was pushing on the defender’s head you can make an argument that if they were going to throw a flag on the defender for holding they would also have to throw one on Crabtree for offensive pass interference. And usually, especially last night, if both the receiver and the defender are interfering with each other they let it go.

"No bathhouse parties in the Castro district tonight. I guess SF er.........blew it."

Har! Good one Doug! And that's why I so wanted SF to lose. I've come to despise that socialist/communist city, whereas I used to love it in my youth. Wish it had been more of a disaster as in the first half, but still SF lost. I'm happy.

Guess no one in SF is gay today. Oops, is that homophobic? Don't you just know if the 49ers had won, Queen Pelosi would have a photo-op with them? Too bad...so sad...

BTW, I would have "hit" anyone on that stage during half time. Although, I still prefer rock bands than the boring pop stuff Beyonce does. My favorite recent half time was with Aerosmith, but then I'm a dinosaur.

Just happy that smelly collectivist invested cesspool of San Francisco lost.

He was not convicted of anything, he plead to perjury and it’s a good thing he did.

First, Lewis plead GUILTY to Felony Obstruction, not perjury. Second, any person who pleads to any charge is convicted, period. Lewis turned state witness against his fellow thug. Lewis got away with murder, and he knows it. In the NFL it's okay to be a thug when you are a star player.

Good game, Ravens scared me this time as they seemed to flub later. Unlike the other playoffs where they traded punches constantly.

Pretty glad SF came back. I was feeling sorry for them at the half. Great comeback by 9ers. Nothing to be ashamed of.

So glad ravens won. It’s like it was for my sister, I’ve been thinking about her this late season. She died the day before Ravens started the season and was big fan, never got to see them play this year. This is for her. Will be putting Raven stuff on her grave like Red Sox fans did years back.

Not to mention the Raven's right tackle moving before the snap on a dozen plays (no flag). Or, the numerous times a Raven's DB hit a SF receive AFTER the play was over (including one play that Crabtree was helmet slapped by two Ravens with a ref standing right in front of it) (no flags). Then, there's the Offensive PI that wasn't called. The failure to call roughing when the Raven's hit Akers with his foot in the air. The three plays on the SF final drive when #91 hit Kaepernick AFTER he had gotten rid of the ball, where #91 needed to take multiple steps in order to hit him. And, the icing on the cake - the PI in the endzone against Crabtree (PI because the ball was in the air when the Raven's DB had hold of Crabtree with both arms).

If this wasn't a case of the NFL selecting the winner, I don't know what it was. I guess the NFL felt more moved by the thug-to-golden boy story they created around Ray Lewis - created, but not true. I am done with the NFL. My time and money can be better spent elsewhere.

There haven’t been problems. We don’t riot - not yet. Terps started rioting 10 years ago after other college scum started too. Rioters should be shot. Terpsichore are still rioting and it would stop if PC fools would start shooting.

I suspect Baltimore doesn’t riot because lots of OTHER people from the suburbs come into the bar districts in the city and cancel out the common thugs that populate it. There are several districts so it’s not just 1 surrounded enclave, either.

Give me a break. Most people hate the Ravens like you do so why would they grant that? Lots of missed calls everywhere, or bogus. 1 guy in an incidental melee and you paint the whole team thugs. Your overweening chip is showing.

I lived just up 99E from you in Red Bluff from 1972-76. Going there on the 16th, as my mother celebrates her 86th birthday.

Loser talk.

Low information citizen talk.

The witnesses testified that he attempted to break up the fight.

That is fact from the Transcripts of the trial.

Edumacate yourself and you too can be unlike the low information voters lol.

How many non-calls were there in this game which impacted the outcome? No less than four. If you count the 3rd down plays that the Ravens should have been flagged when their right tackle moved prior to the snap, the number of three and outs for the Ravens would have been much larger, giving more potential offensive drives for the 49ers. If the Ravens had been flagged for their after the whistle smackdowns on SF receivers and QB, that BS would have ended. By NOT calling these thugs for their on-field behavior, the refs encouraged it, and it continued up to the end of the game. By not calling roughing against the Ravens when they should have, the 49ers were forced to settle for three. By NOT calling PI on the play in the end zone, the refs gave the game to the Ravens. Those refs deserve a ring for handing the game to the Ravens. Dispicable.

I probably have visited the city about 20 times. The only ones lately are because of business and a family Thanksgiving. The city is not the same as it used to be. At an event at the Moscone center last year, besides flying Old Glory and the California flag, they the rainbow flags (6 or 7?) flying at equal height. It was a projectile vomit alert.

Witnesses never lie, and are never intimidated by thugs. And, OJ Simpson didn't kill two people.
