Why did they take a man who obviously had severe PTSD to the shooting range? The only thing I can think of is that he was afraid of guns after a traumatic incident, but he obviously needed intensive therapy. I don’t know what therapist would recommend sending him there, and if that therapist did, I would think the therapist would have ascertained that his mental health was stable enough to go there and would have accompanied him. It’s either a therapist actually thought he was stable enough to go and sent him with these guys or these guys took it upon themselves to try to help him in this manner. Either way, this backfired in a big way.

This man is obviously a hero for his service to this country, and I see he was friends with the Palins. That’s more indication he was a good guy. We lost another good one too young. May he and his neighbor go with God.

People with PTSD are not necessarily violent (as portrayed in movies and such). It’s mostly self-destructive behavior, depression, etc. They are more likely to harm themselves than anything else.
