You may be right, a lot can happen in 126 days but one of the things that came up in the meeting, lots of conversations were not picked up on the livestream mics, was that there is to some extent de-facto concealed carry already now, the beat police know who the bad actors are and leave the good guys alone.

One young woman commented that the age restriction alone would make any concealed carry laws ineffective because it’s the 15 year olds that would most need guns for self defense. 15 YEAR OLDS! Good God what these kids must have to face on their way to and from school?

I wonder if there is any basis for a tea party alliance with elements of the urban black community who have had enough. There seemed to be several people at the meeting who are coming to recognize the governmental manipulation that is going on in front of them, and they seemed to reject the elected people’s efforts to change the subject over and over.

Thanks for posting. This is a good view of what The People feel about a right to protect themselves from everyday street violence, another facet to the debate on gun control.

Was interesting to hear Congressman Bobby Rush, a Black Panther, speak about “wisdom” and “moral law”... then trash “The Same Folk” on the same side of many in attendance saying “tomorrow” these “Same Folk” will be the ones wanting to take people away from their gubmint entitlements.

No, thankfully I’m not but I was sitting almost right behind him, that was my pal Tim. I’m the guy in the red shirt sitting shirt next to Todd. The good Dr. seemed to make some reasonable comments early on but later on either too much reality or maybe his medication wore off and he just lost it.

There are no easy answers but this was a real eye opener for me. It’s easy to go to Springfield and hang out with 10-20k people who think pretty much the same way that I do but this was quite different. There were probably more people killed in this small area than on most battlefields last month and it’s just whitewashed over in the national press. Iam still trying to get my mind around how this could be happening in my own back yard.

The de facto 'Constitutional Carry' rights we will have, finally, are something I couldn't find out about if - more likely when - our STOO-PID^™ legislature fails to act per the Court's ruling in the 180 day window.

I've searched and searched every legal website I know of and found zero on what will happen. So this is post has great news for us. Maybe you could post your FR link to this on the FR IL Board. Lots of FReepers are awaiting some kind of new info too. They'd sure love to see this

Another thing we must remember is the old Democrat Party is dead. Because obozo’s policies are socialist...socialists want to control people and commerce, but NOT own commerce, the old Democrat Party must now be known as the Socialist-Democrat Party. We have to take back control of the language from the socialists and call them what they are.

Socialist oboma has given his “people” the green light to rob and thug and kill. These thugs are brazen and unafraid of the cops, because they know they are protected by obozo and the likes of Holder.The thugs know they won't be given meaningful sentences if caught, (the courts comply with Rahm Emanuel's direction that it is hands off the “people” who have given oboma their votes for whatever freebies they can get.)
