Israel explained on Friday, unofficially, what happened on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, when its planes allegedly attacked a target in Syria. It also explained why Syria gave a false version of what had happened.

Video

According to this unofficial Israeli version, the target was a convoy of SA-17 missiles that was preparing to leave a base at Jamraya, near Damascus, in order to deliver the missiles to Lebanon's Hizbullah.

And:

Yadlin also explained why the Syrians announced that Israel had struck the Jamraya base, and not that it had struck the SA-17 convoy. The reason, he explained, was that Syria had promised Russia that the SA-17s, which are an advanced Russian weapons system, would remain in Syria, and not be transferred to Hizbullah. By dispatching the convoy, Syria was about to violate this commitment, and it therefore did not want to admit to the convoy's existence

Importantly, that particular base was said to have as many as 3000 Iranian al-Quds soldiers and a handful of Russian advisers on it as well. Which matters, because in addition to using rockets against their targets they also used a 2,000 pound bomb.

(ka-BOOM! x 8) + KABOOM!!!

(Originally it was thought they hit two sites some miles apart, but one of them was likely a AAA decoy. Typically a 2,000 pounder will definitely kill anyone within 250 yards, likely kill or wound much further than that.)

Here is a picture of a 40 year old 2,000 pound bomb crater in Laos. The new ones have a thicker casing, so are much more destructive.

Which explains why Syria didn’t announce a formal declaration of war. Assad would have a war on two fronts....a rebellion in his country and Israel.

Syria was doing some no no’s they didn’t want to admit to. For if they had admitted to them, then Israel could be considered to have a legitimate claim of self defense!. Now we see the “rest of the story” coming out.
