Iran adviser describes Hagel testimony as “somewhere between baffling and incomprehensible”

The reviews are in for Chuck Hagel’s appearance before the Senate Armed Services Committee. If he were a Broadway play, as opposed to a mere nominee for Defense Secretary, Hagel would close after one performance.

The Obama administration was not amused. White House officials told CBS’ Major Garrett that they were disappointed with Hagel’s performance. Indeed, one Obama staffer described Hagel’s testimony on Iran as “somewhere between baffling and incomprehensible.”

It depends. Dems like a good BS artists. They don’t like like sloppy liars. It all depends on what King O wants. If WH officials are trashing him that doesn’t bode well for him

I suspect he will be confirmed...as I think he is the best nominee Obama is likely to appoint.

On the other hand this may have been planned all along in order to get the person in there Obama really wants.

If Hagel is rejected O will say “Look, I can nominate a Republican and that's not acceptable to the GOP, I could nominate John McCain and the GOP will turn him down” and he will then nominate someone likely to do more damage to the DOD than a grunt and decorated combat veteran.

I cant think of anyone O would nominate that would be any better..I keep wondering who the GOP senators have in mind that has a chance of being nominated that they would support...maybe they are looking for another Kerry...

He doesn’t sound very bright. He didn’t realize he wasn’t supposed to say he has no thoughts of his own and will just be Obama’s sock puppet.

Of course the administration is disappointed. They didn’t realize they needed to coach this one through kindergarten.

Senator Cruz probably sunk Hagel’s nomination. Less than one decade after the worst terrorist attack in American history, Hagel appeared the Arab network that was financed by the same people who financed and motivated the 9/11 attackers. There he states that America is the “world’s bully” and ought to unilaterally disarm. Even Obama must now realize that the American people will find it absurd for this man to be Secretary of Defense. Maybe in Stockholm but not here.

In my opinion, anyone that votes for Hagel agrees with his world views. We all know he mirrors BO’s screwed up views of the world. Any Republican that votes for him needs to be recalled. It would be insane for him to be in that position.

the WH must have known that he was a grunt in Nam, anybody with a little leadership talents were promoted to something after a litle experiance in combat, so how come they didn’t couch him a little, what is their game anyway? anybody that spent some time with him knows he is no rocket scientist

I’ve never spent any time with Hagel but on TV he seemed like a low information nominee! He looked quite low IQ to me. And he didn’t even try to inform himself or say what the committee wanted to hear.
If this is the best Obama can think of it’s even worse than I thought.

So he is a perfect mirror for the Obama policy.

Sure. Dem senators’ and obama’s goal is to destroy our military. Hagel will be perfect to help achieve their goals.
