One of the nation's leading gay-rights advocacy groups, the Human Rights Campaign, has formed a coalition of major companies calling for the repeal of the federal Defense of Marriage Act.
It's no surprise, of course, that the HRC in Washington would use its considerable clout to organize big businesses to fight DOMA, the law that excludes recognition of same-sex marriages.

I think you might have, as I did on first take, missed the double-negative. Marriott is anti-anti gay (”against anti-gay marriage law”), ergo “pro-gay”.

No, it's homosexual executives cashing office-political clout for homo-friendly corporate policies.
Enron was an early adopter, to a lot of people's surprise in Houston, back in the 1990's, of homofriendly policies that equated homosexual shackups with the institution of marriage.
Then, when Enron started to come apart, the gay-raving-friendly Houston Chronicle finally outed the No. 3 executive at Enron, Michael Koppers (they didn't want to, I promise!), because it was "germane" to the story: Koppers had steered some Enron plunder to his live-in butt-boy as a tax/auditing dodge.
Think of all the dough they can make, selling those handsome young third and fourth sons to the pallid AIDS queens of San Francisco.
