Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) confronted former Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel with a clip from his 2009 interview with Al Jazeera during today's Defense Secretary confirmation hearing.
The Secretary of Defense nominee can be heard agreeing with a caller's assertion that the United States is the "world's bully."

This, and the ability to go around the media, is my primary decision point for conservative candidates. It is why I was for Cain, and then Newt, in the Presidential primary. No one else came close.

Are you new to following politics? That’s okay - - stick around here and you’ll learn plenty. Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Cruz launched him past the establishment favorite, Dewhurst. Had you been following the race back then, you wouldn’t even question that.

Hagel is a handsome dolt. He tried to be a Republican, but he wasn’t smart enough.

My most vivid memory of last year’s RBC in Tampa was Ted Cruz’s speech. He did it without notes and without a podium or teleprompter.
I remember thinking “My God, this guy is destined for bigger and better things”.
Cruz is quite impressive....
I just watched Senator Cruz tear Hagel a new one during the first round of questioning! I’m watching the replay on C-SPAN.
He played both tapes.

Ted Cruz is just amazing. if I lived in Texas I would have voted for this man. What we need as a GOP are more Ted Cruz types running for office..he said everything that needed to be said and then some..as my cousin would say..Cruz tore Hagel a new one..Hagel won’t be able to sit for a month

A Palin/Cruz ticket..or vise versa..right now that is my dream ticket..I would love to move to Texas one day..Texas is one of the states I would love to live in..I am watching the replay now too Hagel looked like he was going to take a dump right there..trust me I know that look LOL

I remember when Sarah endorsed Cruz..she got some flack from some people saying she should have endorsed the other guy..looks like she was right...again!! Yeah I know there are some liberal parts of Texas that I need to stay away from(like Austin) but maybe San Antonio might be nice..but I will never become a Spurs fan thats where I draw the line LOL
