Interesting point. Just like the local and State taxes are now. “Without this tax increase we will need to lay off 128 firefighters....”
BTW - my family’s insurance premium is now more than my frikkin mortgage! (And that is the cheap plan - although I imagine sex change operations and abortions are covered.)

Stein knows what he’s talking about here. He experienced the political ramifications of nationalized health care in Britain and Canada. Any rational person would have avoided nationalization looking at the history of the Brits and Canadians if their interest was creating great health care... but it is rational if your interest is creating political influence and power.
