Excellent comments from re_nortex and the OlLine Rebel.

After making my response above to re_nortex, I started thinking along the lines of Rebel. Sometimes men and women decide for various reasons not to marry - disappointment, broken hearts, not much sex drive, other interests or missions in life that are more important, and so on.

And same sex companionship or friendship does NOT automatically mean sexual perversion, although now the pervs and their assistants would like us to think so.

And I agree with re_nortex that homosexual behavior even if discreet is not normal, not natural, not benign and is a grave character and behavioral flaw and immoral. A person suffering from same sex disorder is to be pitied and offered help; there are many organizations both secular and religious based that help homosexuals become free of their perverted attractions or at least be able to control their behavior.

And if a homosexual does not want to change, nothing can help them; and if they want to force their perversion on society, they need to be put back into the closet.

We are now on the edge of a precipice. What happens next, whatever way it goes, is not going to be pretty or easy. And the precipice is not just about the homo agenda being forced on us, but it is a not insignificant part of the leftist tyranny.

Er, what the devil does this have to do with the topic?

Excellent comments from re_nortex and the OlLine Rebel.

And I must concur that this has been a very rewarding exchange of thoughts with some interesting perspectives that made me reevaluate my own thoughts in a new light. The sodomites have so spoiled the landscape that we ofttimes reflexively -- and wrongly -- think the worst when we see two men together.

I appreciate everyone airing their well-considered opinions on this. And since I'm a big fan of peanuts as a snack (and will be consuming plenty this Sunday while watching a certain football game that comes around this time of year), looks like George Washington Carver is off the hook! :-)

Er, what the devil does this have to do with the topic?

Topic drift occurs frequently and although I generally don't like it myself, I'll admit to going down the cul de sac on this one.

What led to my initial remarks were that the school was first reported as Carver High. And with the barrage of slanted history (for a whole month) about to come our way in less than 24 hours, just seeing the name "Carver" piqued my interest since I've long heard conflicting stories about him in terms of what I discussed. I did momentarily consider starting a new thread but, as it turned out, it was just a slight detour from the main subject of the thread.

The surest way to get kids to talk is to tell them not to, just to prove to officials that they do, in fact, have that right.

Who wants to send their kids to a school where officials feel they have the right to tell their students not to talk about an incident at their school? Parents have the right to know everything that is going on in that school and students have the right to inform them and anyone else they choose to, even the press..

Well, that is what happened. My son wouldn’t tell me what happened, he told me the story he was told to repeat, because he felt threatened by her.

True story.

I don't claim to know, but I'd think if he was, the homolobby would have been braying about it long ago.

One of the sad things about all the faggotry out there is that the concept of 'brotherhood' has gone by the wayside in the public psyche. There was a time when males who were good friends could live under the same roof without people assuming they were homosexuals.

Carver was an outstanding scientist with a passion for his work. Often that is incompatible with marital relationships.

If Curtis shared Carver's passion for his work, Carver may have left his estate to Curtis to continue it.

IIRC, he invented peanut butter, and refused to make money off a patent. He saw it as a cheap source of protein for poor people. For some, that alone makes him a bit of a ‘hero’. His botanical work was outstanding, and I had a great great aunt who exchanged cuttings and corresponded with him. He earned his position in history, regardless of the month, and unlike many of the ‘celebrated’, imho.

Thanks for a very thorough response and a quite plausible explanation. The rumors about Carver's homosexuality are apparently just that -- rumors promulgated by those seeking to advance the homosexual agenda.

I knew that FReepers would come through with an expert analysis and again I appreciate the time invested by Smokin' Joe for a couple of well-written replies.
