RUBIO'S AMNESTY: A PATH TO OBLIVION FOR THE GOP

Ann Coulter

Apart from finding out that Barack Obama did far worse in his re-election than nearly any other incumbent who won re-election, the only thing that perked me up after Nov. 6 was coming across a Time magazine published after the 2004 election, when George W. Bush won a second term.

In the mirror image of all the 2012 post-election analyses, the Democrats were said to be finished, out of ideas, hopelessly unpopular. It's like watching MSNBC, with the word "Democrats" replaced with "Republicans."

Democrats had thrown everything they had into beating Bush, crushing the Howard Dean wing of their party and running a moderate -- a Vietnam veteran, no less! They had George Soros, Michael Moore and Code Pink working like fiends to topple Bush.

Still, they lost to an incumbent. As Time noted, the Democrats had "lost five of the past seven presidential elections."

But the pendulum swings. The Democrats came roaring back in 2006 and again in 2008. There's no reason Republicans can't do the same, unburdened by having to run against an incumbent in 2016.

Unless Marco Rubio has his way.

The Democrats never change their ideas; they change the voters. For decades, Democrats have been working feverishly to create more Democrats by encouraging divorce (another Democratic voter!), illegitimacy (another Democratic voter!) and Third World immigration (another Democratic voter!).

Strangely, some Republicans seem determined to create more Democratic voters, too. That will be the primary result of Sen. Marco Rubio's amnesty plan.

IT'S NOT AMNESTY! Rubio's proponents cry. They seem to think they can bully Republicans the way the Democrats do, by controlling the language.

Rubio's bill is nothing but amnesty. It isn't even "amnesty thinly disguised as border enforcement." This is a wolf in wolf's clothing.

Despite all the blather about how Rubio demands "Enforcement First!" the very first thing his proposal does is make illegal aliens legal. (Don't call them "illegal aliens"!)

The ability to live and work legally in America is the most valuable commodity in the world; it's the Hope Diamond of the universe. I know young, well-educated Canadians who waited a decade for that privilege.

Step One of Marco Rubio's plan is: Grant illegal aliens the right to live and work in America legally. (Rubio's first move in poker: Fold.)

People who have broken our laws will thus leap ahead of millions of foreigners dying to immigrate here, but -- unwilling to enter illegally -- waiting patiently in their own countries.

The only thing the newly legalized illegal immigrants won't get immediately is citizenship. Rubio claims that under his plan, they won't be able to vote or go on welfare. But in practice, they'll have to wait only until the ACLU finds a judge to say otherwise.

Even under Rubio's scheme, all the children born to the 11 million newly legalized illegals will be instant citizens, able to collect welfare for their whole families and vote as soon as they are old enough.

Which won't be long: The vast majority of illegal aliens are Hispanic, and Hispanics have a higher teen birthrate than any other ethnic group. In California, a majority of all Hispanic births are illegitimate. That's a lot of Democratic voters coming.

And look how great that's turned out! With Hispanics on track to become the largest ethnic group in California this year, the state that gave us Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan is incapable of electing any Republican statewide anymore. Taxes keep going up, and there's no one left to pay the bill.

That will be our entire country if Republicans fall for Rubio's phony "Enforcement First!" plan. Perplexingly, some Republicans seem determined to turn the whole nation into California, in the foolish hope of winning one last election.

No border can be secure when the pot of gold on the other side is an American green card. (Again playing games with language, Rubio doesn't call the right to legally live and work here a "green card," but in practical effect, that's what it is.)

So when exactly does the enforcement part of Rubio's "Enforcement First!" plan kick in? Answer: Never.

Or rather, enforcement becomes both impossible -- because nothing will stop them if legalization is the lure -- and irrelevant -- because there's no penalty for leaving the border wide open.

Even if enforcement "fails," are the 11 million illegals already legalized by Rubio going to be asked to leave? Of course not.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is a Republican who -- as a Princeton and Harvard Law graduate -- does not yearn for "strange new respect" from the elites. This week, he said of Rubio's amnesty plan: "To allow those who came here illegally to be placed on such a path is both inconsistent with rule of law and profoundly unfair to the millions of legal immigrants who waited years, if not decades, to come to America legally."

If only other Republicans didn't ride the tea party to victory before realizing they really just want to be John McCain.

Here is the quote from the transcript that I think you mis-interpreted my FRiend.

Rubio:"You know, 40% of our illegal immigrants of our undocumented people that are in this country, they didn't cross the border, they came legally. Their visa expired and they stayed and we don't track people when they leave. We only track them when they come in."

Yes, again this is why Rush is literally correct in the high nineties (percentage wise)!

I could tell by the tone of the rest of your comments on this subject alone that you probably just don't care for Rush, which is your privilege last time I checked.

He wants BOTH goals....

His political agenda as law.

And, the destruction of the Republican Party.

He doesn’t need to compromise or scam.

That doesn’t make sense to me. All he has done is scam since day one. Every issue he has taken up he has done in an underhanded manner. Not surprising since he has been scamming his way through life since he was a child. IMO that’s the only strategy he knows.

You got that right ....amnesty is nothing more than Dem recruitment.....

Vote-crazed pols are concerned only w/ getting entrenched in office, and achieving higher office, on the backs of mainstream Americans---using MSM Americans for their personal gain.

Fugeddabait.

We have to scare the beejezus out of 'em---let the creeps know WE KNOW what they're up to. It's appalling that a few narcissistic pols can corrupt a Nation---making unconscionable demands on the citizenry. Allowing law-breakers and foreign countries to exert a stranglehold on a free country. NOT what the Founders intended.

==============================================

Hispanic pressure groups---"Voto Latino" AND other latino groups lobbying Congres for amnesty----- need immediate investigation:

(1)to determine the scope and dimension of Voto Latino and other Hispo/lobbying groups using pressure tactics on Congress (a violation of US law).

(2) Hispo/lobbying groups and Voto Latino's exchanging votes for amnesty (a violation of US law).

(3) Hispo/lobbying groups and Voto Latino's sources of funding---whether tax dollars are illegally funding legislative initiatives, and, whether foreign countries are funding their activities.

(4) whether Voto Latino is using hate-mongering against amnesty opponents to force a vote.

PARA-MILITARY DEMOCRATS A RELIC OF CIVIL WAR Carpetbaggers---Northern invaders into the South ----were prominent in politics until 1875, but nearly all left under pressure from the Red Shirts and White Liners -----white paramilitary organizations, then-described as "the military arm of the Democratic Party", working openly to violently overthrow Republican rule, using intimidation and assassination to turn Republicans out of office and suppress freedmen's (former slaves) voting.

The Republican sheriff of Yazoo, Mississippi, received a brief flurry of national attention when insurgent white Democrats took over the county government and forced him to flee. (WIKI)

FREEPER ACTION MEMO In 1875, Hiram Revels, a Mississippi Republican--and the first African-American US Senator--wrote to then-Pres Ulysses S. Grant denouncing Northern invaders into the post-Civil War south for manipulating the Black vote for personal benefit, and for keeping alive wartime hatreds. (WIKI)

We need to get someone with integrity----like Cong Allen West (not reelected)----- to write letters to his colleagues, and to the media.

Cong West needs to do the following:

(1) decry the agitation and intimidation tactics being used by latino groups,

(2) expose latinos using hatemongering for personal gain,

(3) emphasize the illegalities WRT threateing the US Congress, and,

(4) precpitate investigations into fraud.

Vote-crazed US pols are marching in lockstep with Mexico.

Mexico is pushing north at a furious pace---throwing its "pressure groups" over the border---salivating for reconquista---to takeover the SW--- financing and coaching their fifth column invasion of US borders.

The wailing and whining invaders' propaganda-----"just here for a better life, to do jobs Americanos won't do"---really "gets" bleeding heart sap-happy liberals and vote-crazed US politicians.

=============================================

The latino criminal underworld on US soil has more criminal enterprises than you can shake a stick at.

<><>ICE's "documents and benefits fraud taskforce" found a common practice among "impoverished" illegals is to buy several faked identities for several thousand dollars each----the illegal then votes and rides the US gravy train under several names.

<><> Jose Madrigal---the Washington staterapist---had some 30 identities. And probably voted and collected US benefits under every single identity.

<><>June 26, 2010 An illegal using multiple identities was sentenced to prison and ordered to pay back $3 million in fraudulently obtained unemploymet compensation. Manuel Mejia Ordonez, got eight years for conspiracy to commit mail fraud........and identity theft.

<><> Hilderberto Salinas sold state drivers' licenses issued out of the state’s Motor Vehicle Agency in NJ to illegals with multiple identities who did not have the necessary id's....among 40 people who participated in the widespread ring. "Impoverished" illegals paid $2,500 to $7,000 apiece for the licenses---which allows them to vote.

The US State Dept once stopped taking passports from Hudson County, NJ---b/c they were mostly fraudulent. The latino HC Clerk was then given a high post in then Dem Gov Corine's admin.

==========================================

Vote-crazed pols are using US gvt authority and tax dollars to foment hatred againt America and Americans.

AN EXAMINATION OF LA RAZA STUDIES---SCHOOL CURRICULUM: These shocking quotes are taken directly from A LA Raza textbook "Occupied America" (pg. 167): “Supporters would execute all white males over age 16,” (also known as the Plan of San Diego). LA Raza school textbook chapter from “Occupied America,” by Rodolfo Acuña, includes a speech given by university professor Jose Angel Gutierrez: “We have got to eliminate the gringo, and if worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him,” (pg. 323).

La Raza books also talk about the need for the govt of Mexico to re-take seven states in SW United States. so that the Southwest USA would become a Chicano nation. And judging by Ramos' activities---La Raza is establishing a beachhead in NJ.

YOU ARE PAYING FOR THIS In 2005 alone, $7.9 million in taxpayer funding was given to "La Raza charter schools" via the US Dept of Education grants. These charter schools stress Latino culture, the Spanish language, the re-conquest of the American Southwest, the establishment of the mythical Atzlan on US soil, and even Aztec math.

In addition to using taxpayer funds to enforce the teaching of murdering Americans and latino violence, the federally-funded La Raza organization operates 100 charter schools across America.

With the help of the liberal media the democrats are doing exactly that. They are intimidating voters and have convinced a good part of the electorate that republicans are racists who hate them, women and children.

They are doing what they can to give more poser to foreign powers and what the media frames as "minorities" that are now the actual majority.,p. Listen to the news: they are now morphing the Sandy Hook school shooting into the need to toss out the constitution. The media will beat this drum incessantly and their chance of selling it to illegals, unions and code pink is probably better than half because republicans will not stand up in opposition.

Are you ok with maintaining the status quo?

Of course not, but I am dead set against an amnesty of any kind. Why the urgency to legalize the status of 12 to 20 million illegals who are already here? The costs are enormous and by rewarding something you get more of it. If anything, the 1986 amnesty should have taught us that.

Here is my plan to deal with the immigration issue--legal and illegal:

Advocate a pro-immigrant policy of low immigration. Republicans need to provide the American people with their own comprehensive immigration reform plan, i.e., give people a reason to vote FOR something rather than just attack the other side’s proposals. Such a plan should contain the following elements:

 Formulate a merit based immigration system that brings in the skills and talents to keep us competitive in the global economy;

 Reduce immigration levels based on need more closely approximating 300,000 a year;

 Eliminate extended chain migration, i.e., family reunification, limiting it to the nuclear family,

 Secure the border;

 Enforce existing immigration laws to reduce the current illegal alien population and limit future illegal immigration, i.e., attrition thru enforcement. Enforcement would include: (1) ending the job magnet; (2) increasing coordination at the federal level by eliminating barriers to information sharing among agencies; (3) leveraging state and local enforcement resources; (4) fully implementing the US-VISIT Program to track and deport visa overstays; and (5) make mandatory and improve such programs as E-Verify and 287 [g] authority to assist employers and law enforcement in identifying illegal aliens;

 Eliminate birthright citizenship and the visa lottery program;

 Ensure that anyone who enters this nation illegally is not rewarded by being permitted to stay and work here; i.e., no amnesty;

 Streamline the processing and adjudication of immigration cases;

 Promote pro-immigrant measures that help newcomers assimilate and embrace the values and principles of our Founders and the Constitution.

Rubio is just acting as the salesman for the McCain-Kennedy 2007 amnesty bill. All of the elements he has mentioned are in that 2007 900 page bill, which I have read cover to cover along with the 2006 Hagel-Martinez amnesty bill that passed the Rep-controlled Senate (the Reps voted against it 32-23), and the 1986 Simpson-Mazzoli bill.

Rubio and the Gang of Eight's plan is just old wine in new bottles. The idea that we must now swoon because an Hispanic Rep is the point man is nonsense. It must be stopped. Legislators should adopt the doctor's rule, "First, do no harm." An amnesty will destroy this country with the stroke of a pen. Everything else that follows is just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Kabar, I agree with your plan. I know, however, that it will not get passed. Ever. The power brokers committed to maintaining the status quo will see to that.

Then we’re stuck with the status quo.

My hopes are simply stated right now. I want controlled entry of border, visa, etc. I want green card acceptance of current illegals instead of citizenship.

But, the forces wanting to maintain the status quo are extremely powerful. They will undermine ANY EFFORT to improve anything. That’s why Rubio’s plan that includes control of entry is as good as it gets.

The bottom line is this: anyone who wants too much is actually going to end up with the status quo....which they hate.

It’s the classic catch 22.

Kabar, I agree with your plan. I know, however, that it will not get passed. Ever. The power brokers committed to maintaining the status quo will see to that. Then we’re stuck with the status quo.

Then the GOP and the country are finished.

My hopes are simply stated right now. I want controlled entry of border, visa, etc. I want green card acceptance of current illegals instead of citizenship.

You may want that, but that is not what Rubio and the Gang of Eight are advocating. And why should border security and tracking and deporting visa overstays be held hostage to an earned path to citizenship for 12 to 20 million lawbreakers? We already have laws on the books covering these areas. It is simply a matter of enforcing them.

It really doesn't matter whether the lawbreakers get citizenship or a green card only. They will have the same impact in terms of costs. They will add a $2.6 trillion liability to our entitlement programs and they will be able to sponsor 66 million of their relatives to join them as part of chain migration, i.e., family reunification. With green cards, they will be legally able to work competing against the 23 million Americans looking for fulltime employment. They will added to the Obamacare rolls probably being subsidized on the exchanges or added to the Medicaid rolls. Their children born here will be US citizens.

But, the forces wanting to maintain the status quo are extremely powerful. They will undermine ANY EFFORT to improve anything. That’s why Rubio’s plan that includes control of entry is as good as it gets.

Rubio's plan is amnesty. It is a poison pill making any improvements a non-issue. What is Rubio going to do about legal immigration? Are we still going to bring in 1.2 million a year? The decade ending in 2010 was the highest in our history in terms of legal immigration--13.9 million. During that same period we had a net loss of 400,000 jobs. Does that make sense?

If this is "as good as it gets," then no deal is better than this one.

The bottom line is this: anyone who wants too much is actually going to end up with the status quo....which they hate. It’s the classic catch 22.

It is a phony strawman. The proponents of amnesty are wont to create the false choice between a blanket amnesty and mass deportation of 12 to 20 million illegal aliens. In reality, we have other choices and alternatives that don’t reward people who have broken our laws with the right to stay and work here and an eventual path to citizenship. The 12 to 20 million illegal aliens did not enter this country overnight and they will not leave overnight. Attrition through enforcement works. We have empirical data from Georgia, Oklahoma, Alabama, and Arizona proving that it does.

No deal.

Repubs should embrace it. They should call themselves the party of no.

No to killing our economy with more debt. No to trashing the constitution. No to taking our guns. No to unskilled welfare bound illegals. No to dictatorial executive orders and illegal recess appointments. No to instructing the AG not to enforce laws.

No, no,no,no,no.
