RUBIO'S AMNESTY: A PATH TO OBLIVION FOR THE GOP

Ann Coulter

Apart from finding out that Barack Obama did far worse in his re-election than nearly any other incumbent who won re-election, the only thing that perked me up after Nov. 6 was coming across a Time magazine published after the 2004 election, when George W. Bush won a second term.

In the mirror image of all the 2012 post-election analyses, the Democrats were said to be finished, out of ideas, hopelessly unpopular. It's like watching MSNBC, with the word "Democrats" replaced with "Republicans."

Democrats had thrown everything they had into beating Bush, crushing the Howard Dean wing of their party and running a moderate -- a Vietnam veteran, no less! They had George Soros, Michael Moore and Code Pink working like fiends to topple Bush.

Still, they lost to an incumbent. As Time noted, the Democrats had "lost five of the past seven presidential elections."

But the pendulum swings. The Democrats came roaring back in 2006 and again in 2008. There's no reason Republicans can't do the same, unburdened by having to run against an incumbent in 2016.

Unless Marco Rubio has his way.

The Democrats never change their ideas; they change the voters. For decades, Democrats have been working feverishly to create more Democrats by encouraging divorce (another Democratic voter!), illegitimacy (another Democratic voter!) and Third World immigration (another Democratic voter!).

Strangely, some Republicans seem determined to create more Democratic voters, too. That will be the primary result of Sen. Marco Rubio's amnesty plan.

IT'S NOT AMNESTY! Rubio's proponents cry. They seem to think they can bully Republicans the way the Democrats do, by controlling the language.

Rubio's bill is nothing but amnesty. It isn't even "amnesty thinly disguised as border enforcement." This is a wolf in wolf's clothing.

Despite all the blather about how Rubio demands "Enforcement First!" the very first thing his proposal does is make illegal aliens legal. (Don't call them "illegal aliens"!)

The ability to live and work legally in America is the most valuable commodity in the world; it's the Hope Diamond of the universe. I know young, well-educated Canadians who waited a decade for that privilege.

Step One of Marco Rubio's plan is: Grant illegal aliens the right to live and work in America legally. (Rubio's first move in poker: Fold.)

People who have broken our laws will thus leap ahead of millions of foreigners dying to immigrate here, but -- unwilling to enter illegally -- waiting patiently in their own countries.

The only thing the newly legalized illegal immigrants won't get immediately is citizenship. Rubio claims that under his plan, they won't be able to vote or go on welfare. But in practice, they'll have to wait only until the ACLU finds a judge to say otherwise.

Even under Rubio's scheme, all the children born to the 11 million newly legalized illegals will be instant citizens, able to collect welfare for their whole families and vote as soon as they are old enough.

Which won't be long: The vast majority of illegal aliens are Hispanic, and Hispanics have a higher teen birthrate than any other ethnic group. In California, a majority of all Hispanic births are illegitimate. That's a lot of Democratic voters coming.

And look how great that's turned out! With Hispanics on track to become the largest ethnic group in California this year, the state that gave us Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan is incapable of electing any Republican statewide anymore. Taxes keep going up, and there's no one left to pay the bill.

That will be our entire country if Republicans fall for Rubio's phony "Enforcement First!" plan. Perplexingly, some Republicans seem determined to turn the whole nation into California, in the foolish hope of winning one last election.

No border can be secure when the pot of gold on the other side is an American green card. (Again playing games with language, Rubio doesn't call the right to legally live and work here a "green card," but in practical effect, that's what it is.)

So when exactly does the enforcement part of Rubio's "Enforcement First!" plan kick in? Answer: Never.

Or rather, enforcement becomes both impossible -- because nothing will stop them if legalization is the lure -- and irrelevant -- because there's no penalty for leaving the border wide open.

Even if enforcement "fails," are the 11 million illegals already legalized by Rubio going to be asked to leave? Of course not.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is a Republican who -- as a Princeton and Harvard Law graduate -- does not yearn for "strange new respect" from the elites. This week, he said of Rubio's amnesty plan: "To allow those who came here illegally to be placed on such a path is both inconsistent with rule of law and profoundly unfair to the millions of legal immigrants who waited years, if not decades, to come to America legally."

If only other Republicans didn't ride the tea party to victory before realizing they really just want to be John McCain.

Hey Ann,

Back more libs for high office and then sit stunned when the rest act like libs.

That’s a winning strategy for America.

A very simple test of sincerity for those proposing this new amnesty is that every applicant's background check includes a search of voter registration roles. If they have committed felony vote fraud, they should be out of here.

I've written dozens of emails, letters and faxes to members of congress and talk show mouthpieces. It has not been mentioned that I know of.

Democrats would surely oppose it, but Rubio (who's office I've called) has yet to mention it.

I am unchanged in my opinion that this is nothing more than democrat voter recruitment and they're gonna play Rubio like a dime store kazoo.

The donk party will be in the WH forever. Bush will go down in history as the last Republican President the US ever had.

No, Rubio has been very forthcoming about his amnesty positions. He wants it. This is not a Dem voter drive as much as it’s the GOP absolving themselves of conservatism.

An in our face ‘FU’.

Rubio is a degenerate little twerp busy body lawyer and con man who never held a real job in his life.

Actually heard him utter the phrase “undocumented worker” on the 10 minutes of the 3 hour Limbaugh show that isn’t a collection of continuous commercials for ridiculous products and services that nobody with half a brain would purchase.

So now the Washingtonians from both parties for their own selfish and nefarious reasons want to enfranchise illegal alien criminals at the expense of real Americans who work for a living and actually pay taxes.

The degenerate political class keeps pushing the productive class against the wall, mugging them via the IRS under threat of imprisonment in broad daylight.

Soon will come a breaking point.

The tyranny of the Washingtonians and their apparatchiks in the bureaucracy and their demented evil propagandists in the press must inevitably result in the collapse of the first American Republic and the rise of a second Republic.

A Republic where the Franchise is limited to responsible citizens, and the Capital in not located in DC but is rotated amongst the States that are invited to join (NY, CA, the entire Northeast and IL need not bother to apply).

The sooner the collapse happens, the better.

The Washingtonians extort 3 trillion dollars from the working stiffs paycheck every year, and will stop at nothing to continue their thievery.

The Washingtonian problem will not be solved via the electoral process.

No solutions to any of our problems will come from DC, for the political class in DC is the biggest threat to the security and wallet of the American productive class, not the barbarians in the Middle East.

Heck, if they took out DC, they would be doing us all a favor.

Marco Rubio and his “immigration reform” initiative can go straight to Hell.

Maybe he team up with that fake suntanned orange faggot Charlie Crist and pass a national primary seat belt enforcement law like he did in Florida.

Marco is busy, busy , busy.

FUMR

Coulter also told the country that Romney was the only guy that could win, then blames voters when he didn’t.
Sometimes she is just a loudmouth.

This is what I think is going to happen.

0bamugabe is going to demagogue the issue and demonize Republicans, in spite of the fact that they’re ready to cave, and Schumer, Durbin, et al are going to sucker the Pubbies in then torpedo the whole thing. The Dems are only using this to pull the rug out from under Pubbies in the mid-terms.

I like Rush’s idea. Make them all legal citizens immediately, except they can’t vote for the next 25 years. The dems would never go for that and hopefully the Mexican illegals would know how much the Dems “cared for them”.

Boy, that's something to be proud of (do I need this? -> "/s"). I tried to hold out hope, but our generation lost the country. I'm truly sorry kids and grand kids.

Hey Ann, CAGOP tried it your way in the mid-90s. It’s how they got where they did. Put up or shut-up? Where’s your alternative plan?

Yes, the dems are pulling every issue out to the open for repubs so they can continue to look like “the party of NO”.
Everything—the fiscal cliff, defense of marriage, women in combat, dropping DADT, immigration, tax payer funded abortion...all the issues that when repubs say no, they are made out to be evil, homophobe, racist, sexist and out of touch with reality.
Dems set the trap and repubs either step in it or join the other side.

I think that is 0bamugabe’s entire strategy. Fiscal policy, gun control, immigration and whatever the next hot button issue is that he and the Dems bring up. Blow it up with wild rhetoric, create a sense of urgency, claim they want Pubbies to come in and make it bi-partisan then destroy the whole thing from within (0bamugabe’s #1 job) and demonize Republicans for the ‘failure.’

Ann Coulter is wrong and working for the other side.

She knows that the status quo will prevail if nothing gets done due to infighting.

Rubio insists on controlling border, visas, etc., BEFORE granting green cards to non-criminals.

However, right now we have 11-20 million illegals, no controls on the border, ruined social security, injured employment, injured health care, etc., all because the status quo prevails.

Who benefits from the status quo?

Democrats as illegals pour across the border.

Unscrupulous employers who hire non-citizens.

And apparently Ann Coulter.

If they wanted to they could use every one of these issues to rally the American people away from cammunism.

But they DON’T want that. They are playing the scapegoat intentionally. Because their actions. not words but ACTIONS, show they want it every bit as much as the Dems.

And for the excusemakers that say ‘BS’, it is on YOU to show how their actions since 2010 point to any other direction.

We elected a conservative house, they went full metal liberal shortly thereafter. Bohner led the charge. Those are the facts.

When is the treatment of American citizens in Mexico and their rights vs US treatment of Mexicans going to be an issue when we discuss amnesty ? What makes it necessary for US to subjugate our sovereignty because of available cheap labor ?

Ever hear of reciprocal aggrements ? These are arranged to protect the rights of American citizens working or living in other countries.

Why is it when it comes to citizens of other countries we are required to offer them the same privledges as we do to US citizens? But when it comes to US citizens who get in trouble or attempt to do business in other countries they do not get the same treatment their citizens get.

Americans can’t own coast land in Mexico. And get no title to it elsewhere. If they run out of cash they’ll get unceremoniously sent back or put in jail untill some relative comes up with the “fresh”. That’s just for starters as for granting them voting privledges yea let’s give Mexican citizens that right when American citizens vote in their elections
