As always the issue is controlling entry.
Without a controlled border and controlled visas, the whole exercise is ignorant. Sen. Rubio pointed out the other day that 40% of illegal entry is those on different kinds of visas just not going home. A controlled border wouldn’t prevent that.
So, we also need a visa tracking system.
The best border control is with a fence. Along rivers and other natural boundaries where that might be impossible, the fence needs to farther back on American territory while justly compensating any displaced landowners (true eminent domain).
Tracking visas would be useless also. So somoene overstays, you have to get a hold of them to deport them.
I think the answer may be how the Saudis and Kuawitis do it. You can come in illegally but you can’t do anything. In those countries you can’t own a cell phone or have a business unless you have a green card(their version) The cops there have no qualms about asking for your papers.
Mess around and break their rules and you are on the next flight out.
If we make it difficult for them to earn a living here they will leave on their own.
You have to send them home. That is the only way to do it. You have to deport them when caught and send them home.
There is simply no other solution. All these other stopgaps close the barn door after the horse has been stolen. Letting them come, establish a presence in America, layering up laws to prevent them from doing stuff - all of these can be circumvented. Every single one.
