This afternoon in Las Vegas, President Obama reminded most American citizens that they were descended from immigrants themselves. Obama warned that the issue was an emotional one, but that it was important for Americans to not view it as “us versus them.” “It’s really important to remember our history,” Obama continued. “Unless you were one of the first Americans, a Native American, you came from someplace else, somebody brought you,” he said

I am a native American. I was born in Cattaraugus County of New York State, to parents who were also native Americans, whose progenitors were native Americans, for generations back; to my forbears, many of whom (all?) were immigrants from another continent settling here. As were the ancestors of Tuscaroran, or Mayan, or Inuit history, battling each other to stake out their claims to land on this continent.

No individual born here in America to parents who were also born here, whether having Shoshone or Mohawk or Aztec, or Egyptian or Mandingo, or Manchurian, or Hindu progenitors, is more or less native American than myself.

Don't push that "Native" American, scalp-taking, stake-torturing, squaw-abusing, tobacco-inhaling nonsense on me, Buds. I'm not going to buy it or bow to it.

And if you're Afro-American, whether with light or deep melanin in your epithelial covering, go home with my blessing. But friend, if you are native American, loving and serving this beautiful homeland, let's be pals.

I think that you are on to something that underlies Obama’s thought process and propaganda. That a person is not an individual - they are only a part of a collective whole. And only even exist because of the collective whole. And it is the collective that has value. The individual on its own is literally nothing - without value or substance or worth.

We usually think of an individual person as being valuable on their own, and combine people with different talents together and you can make something bigger and better (a company, etc.). But it is just the other way around with Obama. If it weren’t for the collective whole, the individual WOULD NOT EXIST. Therefore - the individual owes EVERYTHING to the collective whole.

By the way, Mr. Dumb@ss, my ancestors came to this continent 360+ years ago. While that isn't the 10,000 years claimed by "Native Americans" (who came here over the land bridge from Eurasia), it is way farther back in time than your ancestors can claim.
