I reached voting age shortly after the 1960 election so it was with enthusiasm that I pulled the level for Barry Goldwater in 1964 and campaigned with vigor for him. Yes, as he got older, he certainly didn't get wiser but descended into liberalism. That was far from the Goldwater of the mid-60's. Is that latter-day Goldwater to whom you're referring or was there a liberal lurking under the strong Conservative that I perceived nearly half a century ago?
Just realized the amount. $1.2 million is nothing. What a joke. The GOP is purging conservatives and moving left. Palin is not only a day late and a billion dollars short, but futile besides. I’m not blaming her per se, and I know now that Obama would have likely stolen the election even if Palin had run. Lord knows that the GOP would have given her no financial or political assistance.
It is just funny to see her too-late attempt that will come to nothing.
It is over. Obama will wreck destruction on this nation and plant the seeds of our destruction inserting communist civil servant workers at every level of the Federal Govt. I am sure right now they have SEIU leaders going over every high level vacancy with a fine toothed comb to insure they have their progressive representative appointed or promoted to every vacanancy in every Federal organization.
They are going to ruin us with regulations doing an end-run around the Congress.
I admire Palin’s drive but it is a day late and a billion dollars short. We can’t even slow down the rate of collapse anymore.
In the 60s Barry was a big spender. He always liked big government. The social liberalism came later, and may have been senile dementia.
I also campaigned for him in ‘64, which got me in trouble with Pierre Salinger, who was a friend at the time.
You criticize, but what are YOU doing? She has personally helped conservatives get elected. Lots of them! What have you done?

Compared to the evil Johnson, AuH20 was surely a skinflint. But since I'm not a fan of relativism, that doesn't let him off the hook.

You know, it just might be too late, but one thing that you never do in a battle is to give in, or give up. This is exactly how they (the democrats and republican elite) want us to feel, neutered and helpless. For one, Sarah is a fighter. If SHE is willing to stand up and fight, the very least we can do is join her and do everything we can. Will it be impossible? There have been plenty of times in our past that it looked just as dark. Think what the country felt on December 7th, 1941. If that was not a sinking feeling, losing all those men, ships, aircraft, etc., I don’t know what else is. Give up if you want, but keep your comments to yourself. I believe there is still time for true believers among us to pray for God’s help, if we repent and turn back to Him. I doubt the nation ever will. The verse applies to people of God, as it states, “If MY people, who are called by MY name will will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and I will heal their land.” It was spoken to Israel, but I believe it can apply to any nation that was considered a Christian nation, as ours was founded on Biblical principles, almost straight from the Bible in every detail. Sarah moved from Alaska to some pretty nice digs in Arizona, she’s got bills to pay and the speaking fees just aren’t what they used to be. Her 15 minutes of fame have long since past except for those “true believers” that think she walks on water. Why? I’m not sure as she has not really accomplished much of anything and most of the candidates that she supported lost. but never mind, she’s good looking, for a woman of her age, and there’s plenty of white knights like you to put her up on a pedestal and worship her. The Republican Party Will Die. Sarah will euthanize it. The Party that was founded to save the Union and Free The Slaves cannot save the Republic and cannot get a vote from the descendants of said freed slaves to save its tired old ass. It has succumbed to terminal wimpery and the catering to special interests that it serves from safe seats guaranteed to it by the Democrat Party, which keeps Republicans cut in for a piece of the action and owns them lock, stock, and perk.
And now for the really bad news.
This will be an ugly death. And a slow one. As the GOP dies at the hands of a Third Party (aka The Sarah Party), The Democrat Party will run rampant for a term ... possibly two. There will be strife. Possibly even blood. The battle to regain a constitutional republic has no guaranteed outcome. Pray. Fast. Get armed and organized. WE are the enslaved minority. Unlike the former slaves we shall have to free ourselves with scant help from the majority.
