Mark must know that it is the little Republican primary voters who keep the establishment entrenched in election after election.

I am not so sanguine. Just because fewer than all the conservatives left, does not mean that some of the conservatives did not leave.

Why would a liberal vote for Bush yet not vote for McCain? That to me makes little sense. What makes to me more sense, is that some of the conservatives chose not to stick with McCain.

Again, this based on the false premise that the conservatives would support the party just because they are conservatives and believe that this is their duty. At some point the question comes forth - the party does not wish to support our ideals, so why do we support the party?

You mean the early primaries that are focused in states that overwhelmingly vote Democrat?

The ones that the GOP-e insist on keeping "open"?

I hate to say it but I feel in my heart it may be time for some drastic and perhaps otherwise unthinkable action.

I can only pray that they exist somewhere out there someone brave & skilled enough to pull it off before its too late.

It brings great sadness to my heart to recognize that there is in any event little to no hope for liberty under this “Federal” Government. No future election is likely to ever change that fact, just as no past election has ever had any similar effect.

Government are made by and of men known as politicians who have almost uniformly shared one defining characteristic, the desire for power. We cannot have hope to reclaim liberty when it runs against the grain of this characteristic, nor can we ever expect to elect a lot of such men who reject it.

This is the way things have been sense the beginning of time and the reason Government are known to almost uniformly grow corrupt until falling. The reformation & restoration we have hope to see will not and cannot come from Washington.

In the face of tens of millions of voters even 100,000 is a small number.

This all goes back to the very origins of the Whig party ~ they were the guys supporting the National Bank! Whenever there were serious financial issues the old Whig wing of the Republican party has been ready to jump ship ~ the morally driven side, the Abolitionists, stayed the course.

That's more easily said than explained. Primary turnouts are fractions of the general election turnout of voters, but as far as most of the House of Representatives goes, if you win the primary, you probably got the job. Why would a conservative or small 'l' libertarian vote for someone on the right in the House, and then vote for a RINO for statewide office or President? That doesn't make sense to me.

I've posted results from exit polls since 2006. You can find them using 20xxexitpoll as the keyword by substituting the correct numbers for the particular general election.

2006 and 2008 GOP general election losses were explained by moderates and/or independents bailing out on the GOP.

In 2010 the GOP got 60 % of the white vote for the first time.

In 2012 the GOP got 60 % of the white vote, but an expected 7 - 8 million white voters didn't go to the polls.

The Case of the Missing White Voters

Open primaries in some states only explains part of these anomalous results. Low information independent voters in the general election explains more, IMHO. There are many states where the independents, aka unaffiliated, outnumber registered rats or pubbies. IIRC, the national average of those independents is close to 40 %.

....drastic and perhaps otherwise unthinkable action.....

We are pussy-footin' around the basic question here. The GOP must die. How do we engineer a dignified and honorable death, instead of a horrible, slow, internecine torture with cheering Democrats poised to take over for the rest of our lives?

Perhaps "Conservatives" should simply forget any hope of Federal power and concentrate on winning states, placing them under strong, anti-federal conservative governors and legislatures. What is "Strong?" A governor for example, who realizes that the states still have the power to select their senators by vote of state legislatures and will fight for it in court if necessary.

In re "Conservative" talk show hosts: wake TF up. These recycled Rock'n'Roll Disc Jockeys (Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, the despicable Schnitt, e.g.) are not leaders. They are not political philosophers. They are in many cases woefully uneducated radio geeks whose job it is to sell the believers Sleep Number Beds and Gold Bars, among other advertisers' products. Preaching to the choir (or niche market) is no way to build church membership. They leave major issues untouched. IMNSVHO, they all have "0" or minus effect on elections. In fact, IMNSVHO, they are at least partially responsible for turning the last fiasco into a personality contest rather than a hard-hitting policy-based campaign; not wise when your candidate has no personality. The Left has the media. We have hours of negative rants all day long.

Romney may have picked up on their constant negativity and anti-Obama posturing and ran a "I'm not Obama" campaign. Perhaps that's what led to the low white voter turn-out. Let's face it ... Those so-called "conservatives" who stayed home are just as ignorant as the newly discovered "Low-Info" voters. Dumb bastards the solid Democrat base may be, but they were smarter than the white millions of talk radio listeners who may have stayed on the couch for the election. That is, many of the "Low-Info" people apparently at least voted, (or were voted ... which is another story uncovered by the "conservative" hosts).

Why can't we use the radio to promote A PROGRAM, The PLAN to IMPLEMENT IT, and to discover the LEADER to make it clear and inspire citizen followers?

You ain't gonna find any of that on talk radio. It's all "How bad is Obama ... He's taking our guns ... Buy this gold bar... This Identity Protection Software!"

I think you are definitely on to something here. The talk show hosts should be able to find the messages that do three things that are badly needed:

Little more than a decade from now, no one will ever admit that they were a Democrat or a Republican. The Democratic Party is the kool-aid that is the suicide pill that is killing America. And the Republican Party will be recognized as the enablers that did not do enought to stop it.

It is not too late to restore the Republic and with it our lost freedoms. Charles and David Koch cam muster the resources to do it. Is there anybody on this site who can get me in touch with the Kochs or are there enough concerned Freepers to make enough noise that the Kochs will hear our message?

Anyhow, thanks for posting it.
