Gingrich to Newsmax: Time for GOP to Be the “Party of Ideas”

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich tells Newsmax that Republicans need to be the “party of ideas,” offering real solutions instead of playing “bumper sticker politics.”

Gingrich also says the GOP’s stance on immigration during the presidential campaign was “devastatingly destructive,” but he’s hopeful that reform can be implemented thanks to Sen. Marco Rubio’s “very important leadership” on the immigration issue. …

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax TV, Gingrich discloses how he reacted to Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s recent pronouncement that the GOP should “stop being the stupid party.” “I broke out laughing because when I was first running for Congress back in the 1970s, Irving Kristol wrote an article for the Wall Street Journal entitled ‘The Stupid Party,’ and he was talking about Republicans,” Gingrich says. …

Seems like the party is not stupid, but only the leadership. The rest of this article gives me a headache, never mind this excerpt . . .

How does Gingrich get to speak for anyone? Gingrich stands firm on principles like a sand castle. As long as people like Gingrich are the “face of the GOP”, the GOP will be backbenchers.

The only ideas that we need the Republicans working on are:

1) Cut spending

2) Cut taxes

3) Cut government (including the repeal of ObamaCare and all such socialist crap)

Rinse and repeat.

He, Gingrinch, I have an idea, many actually, for the GOP to be relevant:

1) Enforce the existing laws
2) Repeal laws that don’t work
3) Get gov’t outta my wallet
4) Get gov’t outta my life

...and the most radical
5) FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION, as they took an Oath to do!

Newt has always had a big head to match his ego.

He is a star on the Sunday network talk shows.

Life is going to be simple for me in the post GOP world. No more signs in my front yard. No more contributions to candidates. No more time wasted on news or talk radio.

The GOP obviously has more than enough ideas about getting more federal funding to state and local governments while conniving with local NGOs to regulate further against new, small manufacturing starts on rural private properties. It’s all about recirculating debt from government, tourists with government incomes and more fees and taxes against property owners, eh?

Tariffs are the constitutional American way. All else is scheming for government-linked socialism.

He didn’t mention securing our voting system to STOP all of the fraud. Unless and until that happens, we will not have a legitimate government. There are two things the elite and powerful want from us citizens; our money and our subserviance to them and they are winning that war.

Bring outward expressions of frustration, anger, outrage, disbelief and a posture defensive of our Constitution BACK into politics. It's time for males to act like MEN and not worry about upsetting the females in the room. It's time for MEN to take politics BACK from the clutches of passive females and effeminate, limp-wristed emasculated sissy boys raised by single moms.

Americans are DESPERATE for someone to shout "LIAR" in the halls of Congress. Joe Wilson had it right. He WAS right. Our founding principles are being trashed and no one's ANGRY about it? Forget the SISSY GOP! OUT with political correctness. IN with OUTRAGE! If America is to be saved, we need more Joe Wilson moments, and.. WITH NO APOLOGIES.

Not to upstage Glenn Beck but, how about a new party called the '1791' party? Hmmm? Any other ideas?

Seems like the party is not stupid, but only the leadership.

The GOPe are not stupid. They know that what they are doing will ruin the party and the country. How could they not. They WANT to take the country down. They see the North Korean leadership living like God-Kings while the rest of the country is open air prison filled with living corpses. They want something similar here.

Newt, you were a serious contender for the GOP nomination last year. Nothing stopped you from following your own advice.
