United States Senator John Kerry easily overcame the first hurdle of his confirmation as the next secretary of state Tuesday with a unanimous vote of approval by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Kerry, President Barack Obama's pick to replace Hillary Clinton as the nation's top diplomat, must still be confirmed by a vote of the full Senate later in the day, which he is expected to receive without contention.

The five-term Massachusetts Democrat, who has been a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for 28 years and led it for the past four, said he was "humbled" and gratified by the unanimous and bipartisan vote of approval.

Buh bye John! 28 years in the senate is too long. Go hang out with the worthless striped-pants boys at Foggy Bottom and Turtle Bay.

I keep wondering why I worked hard, got useful degrees, and had a productive life when I could have lied about my military service, gotten a dishonorable discharge fixed by fellow corrupt govt officials, boinked some rich idiotesses in order to purchase a senate seat, and cheapened the senate even further than thought possible (by dead Ted)...and then get a nomination to perhaps the most corrupt part of our govt evah.

Kerry is a toad. A sleezy toad. A stupid, sleezy toad.

But a first class gigolo.

My only concern is that after being SoS that he tries in another four years for the Presidency again in 2016, considering the fools nearly elected him in 2004.

I guess none of those feckless Republicans are going to bring up the fact that he collaborated with the enemy and may very well have received a dishonorable discharge.

It’s all about protecting one of their (ruling class) own.

Republican members of the committee:

Bob Corker - Ranking Member
James Risch
Marco Rubio
Ron Johnson
Jeff Flake
John McCain
John Barrasso
Rand Paul

Unanimous vote in favor of Kerry. All of these Republicans are members of the “club” first, representatives of the people second.

Typical of our time wherein sedition and treason are elevated to the highest offices.

Then some people have the temerity to wonder why America is in decline.

GOP-e RINO McConnell, like Boehner, told them to vote the treasonous bastard in or be purged from power posts as well as being defunded when reelection comes along...kissing Leftist ass being more important than conservative principles as usual.

...give them a break until some of them get the political power to throw the treasonous GOP-e sonsofbitches out.
