The Boy Scouts of America is considering dropping a longtime ban on gay members, according to a spokesman.
“The BSA is discussing potentially removing the national membership restriction regarding sexual orientation,'' spokesman Deron Smith said in a statement obtained by FoxNews.com. "This would mean there would no longer be any national policy regarding sexual orientation, but that the chartered organizations that oversee and deliver Scouting would accept membership and select leaders consistent with their organization’s mission, principles or religious beliefs."
Without question we can expect a “Rainbow Badge” for meritorious support for “Inclusive Activities”, which will include organizing Boyfriend of Scouts events at Gay Day rallies. I am not even remotely kidding.
It’s about more than that.
It is about forcing what used to be a religious, traditional organization to allow openly homosexual men women access to what the homos term as “recruits” (people they can convert to homosexuality).
Let’s keep in mind that the issue with priests attacking young boys is not an issue of Catholic theology, it is an issue of homosexual predators seeking out an occupation that allows them access to potential victims.
The homos have shifted focus to the Catholic church aspect of the issue away from the root issue which is that of homosexual predators.
If that predation happened so flagrantly where it is not condoned, imagine how it will proliferate in an organization where it is openly condoned.
What we have learned over the past four years is that an overwhelming majority of blacks hate whites and always will and will take from whites whatever they can whenever they can.
We’ve also learned that the homos will never, ever stop attacking any person or institution that calls their behavior abnormal or perverted. Their primary target is God and the Bible, but they attack His people by proxy. And they will not stop until Christians turn away from Biblical teaching on the issue and choose the friendship and acceptance of the homos over God’s word.

BS. The same pressure causing this decision is the same pressure that will be used later to force the locals to allow homosexual activities in the scouts. Incrementalism is the name of the liberal game; always has been, always will be.
That is sad but wise, SandRat. The homos are not fighting so hard to get in so they can build campfires out in the woods with the scouts.
They banned queers because a long standing, massive child molestion ring threatened to break the bank in lawsuits. Hate to say it, but like JoePa at Penn state, they looked the other way while the animals operated at camps and other activities until the law suits began.
This is what life will be like for boys in homo America; a boy’s public life centered around homo butt activity, which is their whole idenity. It’s hard to beleive we have fallen to this insanity.
We had two males of my generation molested in the Scouts.
I don’t know what form molestation will take in the future, but in the past, sending boys off to summer camps or to any activities outside your group, was a bad idea. : (

And my point of view on so-called “gay marriage”: Laws promoting “homosexual marriage” are about persecuting those that refuse to support homosexual behavior.
All NAMBLA members should be stood up against a wall and shot.

The short answer is no. Cub and Boy Scout units were once chartered on U.S. military bases but the ACLU put the kybosh on that in the early 2000s. Same goes for the National Jamboree which was hosted by the U.S. Army at Ft. A.P. Hill, VA, from 1980-2010. Those days are gone.
The confusion among volunteers at the unit (Pack, Troop) level is the difference in funding for the national council, the local council, and the individual units. Basically, the units are expected to fund themselves. They do get some help from the local councils during the annual fall popcorn sale (proceeds are split between the units and the council with the units getting the lion's share).
Local councils are mostly funded by ...
1. local United Way Chapters
2. annual Friends of Scouting (FoS) drives
3. annual Trails End popcorn sale (the Cubs are the biggest sellers)
4. private donations (individual endowments, corporations)
5. cyclical capital campaigns (~every 7 years, foundation grants)
6. annual membership dues
7. Mutual of Omaha offers accident and sickness insurance coverage to Scouts and Scouters which furnishes medical reimbursement in case of death, accident, or sickness within the policy amounts. Most likely, BSA gets a commission for policies sold.
8. special events - charity trap/skeet shoots, charity golf tournaments, recognition/motivational banquets

10. Scout Shop sales at local council service centers.
Sorry, you are you missing a major part of the picture. The following denominations will openly embrace homosexuals into their Packs and Troops.
1. UCC - United Church of Christ
2. TEC - The Episcopal Church
3. ELCA - Evangelical Luthern Church of America
4. PCUSA - Presbyterian Church - USA
5. Moravian Church
6. UMC - United Methodist Church. They are approaching a schism over the issue of homosexuality. They are the 2nd largest denomination which charters BSA units.
7. CJC&LDS - Mormons. The LDS Church officially adopted BSA as their male youth program in 1913. They are the 1st largest denomination which charters BSA units. It remains to be seen what impact Bishop Mitt Romney's 2012 presidential candidacy and outright support of homosexuals in BSA will have on the LDS Church. 140
I sent my scathing nastygram to National Council 10 minutes after I heard about this. I am a Scoutmaster. I told them point blank, they need us, we don’t need them. I can cancel our charter tomorrow and start a new outdoor oriented organization for boys. I told them that American Heritage Girls would probably start a boys only chapter real quick without all the nonsense.
Morals and standards mean something.
Homosexuality and the Boy Scouts go together like a fish and a bicycle. The Boy Scouts organization should refuse to allow any participation by the NAMBLA types which are the ones who are interested in them, or they might as well disband as an organization because they will have lost their worth.
They are not “gay.” They suffer from same-sex attraction disorder, a mental and spiritual disorder that manifests as a compulsion to engage in disgusting perversions. They should not be allowed *any* contact of any kind with children or adolescents.

In the first troop I was in, the scoutmaster was a neighborhood child abuser (a thug). He was also a High School teacher. He tried to suffocate the younger brother of my best friend by shoving a garden hose down his throat and turning on the water.
I was really glad to get out of that troop!
The next troop I joined was fabulous. The scoutmaster was an ex marine who had served in recon in the Phillipines in WW II. We did all kinds of things, like build boats and take them down the Sacramento river from near Shasta dam to Sacramento, and the scoutmaster was the only adult with us (he’d be jailed for that now I guess - child endangerment or some such crap).
