Appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press this afternoon, former GOP vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) praised Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and lamented that she did not win the presidency in 2008, as he believes that would lead to a better chance for deficit reduction today than under President Obama.

Host David Gregory showed Rep. Ryan video of Sec. Clinton speaking with him at the inaugural luncheon, which Ryan characterized as “chumming it up” over a variety of personal topics.

The congressman then praised Clinton: “Look, if we had a [Hillary] Clinton presidency, if we had Erskine Bowles as Chief of Staff of the White House or President of the United States, I think we would have fixed this fiscal mess by now. That’s not the kind of presidency we’re dealing with right now.”

Hey Paul, just because Hillary can ride a broom doesn’t mean that she could fix the budget.

Why do they go on these shows? Hillary will use this in her 2016 commercials unless she is drooling from another “brain event”.

Looks like Ryan lost more credibility, but he wasn’t really conservative enough, anyway.

I suspect that Ryan is just trying to cause trouble. a lot of the hillaryites are still pissed off at Barky Obama over the primary fight in 2008.

I believe there are still PUMAs out there . . .

The Republican party should just close up shop and merge with the Communist Dimocrap party.

This is was Sarah’s one fault: the insipid praising of shrillery - who has all the same goals as ubama - except for maybe the destruction of Israel.

He’s just trying to get at Bambi. That said, Hillary is horrible, but she probably would have been more rational than Obama.

But this is just a dig at Obama, who is an incompetent ideologue and on top of that has treated Hillary as lower than dirt. So I think Ryan may also be making the Dems ask themselves some questions they’d rather not face. (Such as, how did this Marxist Muslim fraud take over our party?)

So Paul was a better fit for Mitt Romney than we thought at the time?

Ryan is bright and his eyes are wide open.

He saw how his and Mitt's victory was stolen by the Democratic machine...he knows.

He may compliment Hillary, but he is preparing for the future.

Don't sell him short, he is doing his best...and whether or not it is good enough, it will still be good.

We have to start somewhere...and we need good leaders. Let's honor those who will try to lead the conservative side.

Ryan is quickly sliding down the slope of GOP obscurity. I don’t care for those who schmooze with our current Marxist, or the one looking to replace him/

I agree with both of those points.
I also suspect the GOP would love to run against Hillary in 2016.

Paul Ryan is waaaay to green to be President. He needs about 10 more years experience dealing with the Dems.
