A muslim who raped a 13-year-old girl he groomed on Facebook has been spared a prison sentence after a judge heard he went to an Islamic faith school where he was taught that women are worthless.
Adil Rashid, 18, claimed he was not aware that it was illegal for him to have sex with the girl because his education left him ignorant of British law.
Yesterday Judge Michael Stokes handed Rashid a suspended sentence, saying: ‘Although chronologically 18, it is quite clear from the reports that you are very naive and immature when it comes to sexual matters.’
Earlier Nottingham Crown Court heard that such crimes usually result in a four to seven-year prison sentence.
But the judge said that because Rashid was ‘passive’ and ‘lacking assertiveness’, sending him to jail might cause him ‘more damage than good’.
Rashid, from Birmingham, admitted he had sex with the girl, saying he had been ‘tempted by her’ after they met online.
They initially exchanged messages on Facebook before sending texts and chatting on the phone over a two-month period.
They then met up in Nottingham, where Rashid had booked a room at a Premier Inn.
The girl told police they stayed at the hotel for two hours and had sex after Rashid went to the bathroom and emerged wearing a condom.

How many times do we let ourselves get into terrible situations because we don’t say “I forgot”?
Let’s say you’re on trial for armed robbery. You say to the judge, “I forgot armed robbery was illegal.” Let’s suppose he says back to you, “You have committed a foul crime. you have stolen hundreds and thousands of dollars from people at random, and you say, ‘I forgot’?”
Two simple words: “Excuuuuuse me!!”
This is one reason why they disarmed all of the Englishmen. So they can pull stuff like this with impunity.
Remember this case when they come for your guns.
I was never taught that a lot of things are illegal, but kept getting told that ignorance of the law is no excuse...it sucks being a legal citizen.

I lived in a small desert town where a certain individial like to ply underage girls with alcohol, until one day the underage girl was the daughter of a patrolman.
The local sheriff came banging on his door the day after the patrolman's daughter had been seen riding with the pedo in his truck and drinking beer, and told him he was getting out of town. Not by sundown, but right now. They gave him fifteen minutes to throw what he could in a pickup truck and escorted him out of town. Then the Patrol followed him to the next town down the road, and notified the local constabulary of their new resident when he checked into a hotel. I guess they told him to move along, too.
The pedo had an electrical business in that town, but it got boarded up and I never heard of tbat guy again. I guess the LEOs were persuasive.
