Feinstein: We cannot allow the rights of a few to override safety of all...
The Congressional Record ^ | February 24, 2013 | Dianne Feinstein (Traitor-CA)

Posted on 01/25/2013 10:49:32 AM PST by kiryandil

By Mrs. FEINSTEIN (for herself, Mr. SCHUMER, Mr. DURBIN, Mr. WHITEHOUSE, Mr. BLUMENTHAL, Mr. LEVIN, Mr. ROCKEFELLER, Ms. MIKULSKI, Mrs. BOXER, Mr. REED, Mr. LAUTENBERG, Mr. MENENDEZ, Mr. CARDIN, Mrs. GILLIBRAND, Mr. SCHATZ, Mr. MURPHY, Ms. WARREN, and Mr. CARPER):

   S. 150. A bill to regulate assault weapons, to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited, and for other purposes; to the Committee on the Judiciary.

Mrs. FEINSTEIN. Mr. President, I rise today to introduce the Assault Weapons Ban of 2013. This legislation is urgently needed to help end the mass shootings that have devastated countless families and that lead too many Americans to live their lives in fear.

**snip** It will be an uphill battle--all the way. I know this.

But we need to ask ourselves:

Do we let the gun industry take over and dictate policy to this country? Do we let those who profit from increasing sales of these military style-weapons prevent us from taking commonsense steps to stop the carnage?

Or should we empower our elected representatives to vote their conscience based on their experience, based on their sense of right and wrong and based on their need to protect their schools, their malls, their workplaces and their businesses?

This legislation is my life's goal. As long as I am a member of the Senate, I will work night and day to pass this bill into law. No matter how long it takes, I will fight until assault weapons are taken off our streets.

Put simply, we cannot allow the rights of a few to override the safety of all. That is not the America that our founding fathers envisioned. And that is not the America I want my children and grandchildren to live in.

So I ask everyone watching at home: please get involved and stay involved.

The success or failure of this bill depends not on me, but on you. If the American people rise up and demand action from their elected officials, we will be victorious. If the American people say ``no'' to military-style assault weapons, we will rid our Nation of this scourge.

Please, talk to your senator and your member of Congress.

Dianne Feinstain and her fellow signers of the Declaration of Treason:

Mr. SCHUMER,
Mr. DURBIN,
Mr. WHITEHOUSE,
Mr. BLUMENTHAL,
Mr. LEVIN,
Mr. ROCKEFELLER,
Ms. MIKULSKI,
Mrs. BOXER,
Mr. REED,
Mr. LAUTENBERG,
Mr. "PedoBear" MENENDEZ, Mr. CARDIN,
Mrs. GILLIBRAND,
Mr. SCHATZ,
Mr. MURPHY,
Ms. WARREN,
and Mr. CARPER

My apologies for the previous post accusing Mr. Begich, (D-AK) of this scurrilous & treasonous utterance.

Fortunately, one of the other posters called his office and they were forced to disavow any knowledge of this treasonous speech.

He'd best be votin' AGIN when Treason Girl Feinstain tries to advance this swill.

And my thanks to the Admin Moderators for cleaning up my mess on Aisle 3... :-)

More like, we can’t allow the safety of a few to override the rights of all.

Assume she’s right about “the few”. So, as far as I know, “the few” could also be defined as a minority.

Aren’t Democrats all about minority rights?

The rights of a few don’t trump the safety of all.

The rights of all keep us all far more safe.

Her premise is flawed.

That Feinstein remark will go down in history. I'd say it applies, in spades, to the supposed right to a free press.

Or, maybe she is referring to Congress itself, whereby we can't let the rights of Congress override the safety and security of the working class.

This should be clear for all.

Feinstein completely failed Bill of Rights, and Why the Founding Fathers need to spell it out for our rights.

Folks, this is outright criminal dereliction of duty, violation of her oath, and it truly boils down to treason.

Each one of these people should be arrested immediately for sedition. They are in direct violation of the Constitution of the United States and are attempting to foment insurrection against it.

Dems controlled Congress 2007-2010..why didn't Diane do this before those children at Sandy Hook were slaughtered. She certainly had plenty of opportunity. I mean, since she cares so much and all,,,which media-bot will have the nerve to ask her that?

And what would be the effect on the planet if these 20 or so went missing? Nada

I also think they represents states who would be better served if they left the union and joined another country, say China or N. Korea. I take notice a good number are from NY, NJ, Ill, Cal, Mass and NJ. Adios.

Put simply, we cannot allow the rights of a few to override the safety of all.

So if I read this correctly, Feinstein proposes to infringe on the rights of some of our citizens.

Does she not take an oath as a Senator to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States"? On the face of it, this statement is a violation of her oath of office. I move for her immediate impeachment and removal from office.

You beat me to it. Although even that claim regarding "safety" is a stretch.

"..we cannot allow the rights..."

Rights are descended from God. This puts the Dems squarely against God Himself.......................

Or should we empower our elected representatives to vote their conscience based on their experience, based on their sense of right and wrong and based on their need to protect their schools, their malls, their workplaces and their businesses?

Uh, dearie? If the representatives vote their consciences, they'll be voting AGAINST YOU, because your bill is an immoral power grab that empowers the government at the expense of the innocent, subject those same innocents to the threat of a tyranny by you and your simpleton comrades, and in any case would do nothing to curtail the imaginary "scourge" you've ginned up and pretend to care so much about.

So I ask everyone watching at home: please get involved and stay involved.

Well, OK, Nancy, if you're sure that's what you want!
