Obama Inc Trying to Use Banks to Destroy Gun Manufacturers
FrontPageMag ^ | 1/25/2013 | Daniel Greenfield

There were fairly clear policy rules once upon a time. If you wanted to pass gun control, you would get up, use a bunch of kids as props and put in a Senate bill that would get the job done. That’s still being done, but it’s only the tip of the iceberg.

Obama Inc. is consolidating control over the economy which puts its minions in the position of being able to make policy through economic pressure and policy. Under Socialism, you don’t have to pass a law, you just have to use your economic control to make the companies enforce the law.

Growing government control over banks and investment companies, directly and indirectly, allows those institutions to be used to target firearms manufacturers.

Cerberus was bullied into dropping the Freedom Group which includes Remington and Bushmaster. Bushmaster has become a special target for the anti-2nd amendment movement. Now Rahm Emanuel is demanding that TD Bank and Bank of America end their lines of credit to firearms manufacturers unless they come out in support of Obama’s war on the Bill of Rights.

The gun manufacturers should go to the equity market to replace their loans. It would be tough on current share holders, but make them immune to commercial bank pressure.

Houston, TX:
Moody Bank
Frost Bank

They would be a good replacement for BOA.

Bullies destroying America for their own power.
Please allow me to change: Communists destroying America for their own power.

Fascists destroying America for their own power, because this is fascism. Even a flaming liberal would have a hard time defending it if that liberal were to be brutally honest.
If a Republican were doing this to the first Amendment (another Constitutional right, for example), that liberal would be freaking out right now - big time. There would be rioting in the streets. Buildings would be set ablaze.

We are rapidly reaching the point that the Founders feared would require a Second Amendment.

My 92 y/o mother (who is scared to death of guns) made that very point just yesterday.

While she is scared of guns, she appreciates the fact that I have a growing arsenal.

The equities markets are also being squeezed by the demands for divestiture on the part of investors like Cerberus who are under pressure from their investors (like the California teachers’ pension fund).

That said, retail investors (small, non institutional investors like you and me) might pick up the slack if the gun companies accessed the public markets for equity.

They will whine when the gun manufacturers start using foreign banks.

The irony is classic. Libtards mock us for using tyranny as the argument for having the 2nd Amendment while Ovomit is using tyrannical actions to eliminate the 2nd Amendment.

There are a lot of banks in Houston which did not take tarp funds or any other funds from the government and they are pretty flush with cash from the oil business. You haven’t heard of these banks as they are local and they keep a low profile. One of the banks when called by the Feds to take TARP funds actually told the Feds “go to hell”.

Staffed with Texans they would be very happy to entertain any financing arrangements with gun manufacturers. This is Texas and they will listen.

I think a lot of people are starting to think the same way. I think honest people would say they're happy a few in their neighborhood are armed, because when protection is needed, those neighbors will be the only thing that saves them. No politician is going to show up at their doors and shoo the bad guys away.
People know Obomas economy is a mess (even though some democrats won't admit it, they know it is), and they know there's a risk of raging, animalistic welfare hoards if the money runs out. Who's going to come running to personally save them? Nancy Pelosi? (She's going to be on a plane out of the country before the American even know what hit them!)

“I wonder if the folks who sat home because they didn’t want to vote for a Mormon moderate have a clue yet as to how badly they screwed up?”

What they have done is insured the demise of our country. I have my doubts that it will ever come to a shooting war. The US as we have known it is over.

Thanks principled voters, you did it. Thats right you voted for Paul or stayed at home, YOU did it. What you did is worse than Obama. Obama knows what he is doing and we know it and expect him to do it. What you did you did out of arrogance. You think your principles are more important than the life of the country.

Have fun as we spin down.

Of course, Bank of America has been the "Bank of Obama" since the 2008 bailout.

Which is why a self-respecting firearms dealer will be looking for a bank that is not federally owned (in whole or in part) to process credit card transactions.

Just got a note from my niece. She lives in California and LOVES all the freebies that socialist government provides.

Asked me to try to buy a handgun for her (in another state).

You can imagine the polite but firm reply I gave her.

If Romney were in the Whitehouse, after Sandy Hook most of the Republicans would be following him so closely on a post shooting gun ban that if he stopped fast, their heads would jam so far up his ass it would look like he had dozens of adams apples...

Maybe it’s time for the manufacturers to start using credit unions. They can provide syndicated loans of a reasonable size - not as large as a regional bank - but they’re a heck of a lot more member friendly and they cooperate with other CUs as partners vs enemies.

Frankly, I think we are being manipulated. But, their incompetence is showing also. I am sure that the lefties would nothing more than a violent clash, especially where guns are involved. These idiots inherently know that the barrel of a gun holds power and they covet this power for themselves.

They keep stoking this hot botton issue but at their own peril. I fully expect a Krystalnacht(sp) in the form of racial event some time in the near future. The headlines will read something like "whities execute dozens of poor, defenseless blacks near Detroit neighborhood".

Granted, that would be if the shooting subsequently still occured. Of course, there are a lot of things he would have been fine to have in office for, dealing with Islam, financial affairs, etc... But I think under the perfect storm of media/statist anti gun frenzy, having a marxist in the WH with a majority Republican House is about the best we could ask for to maintain the line.

The NRA produces mountains of spam and other money raising mail. They should, instead, open an NRA bank. It would be huge.

Guys ... this is a concerted “back door” effort by Obama. The banks that suck are:

Bank of America
Wells Fargo

This is about who processes the credit cards and the small banks keep getting bought up by these two and then the gun stores are purged from the ranks.

I will not do business with Bank of America or accept checks from Bank of America since they asked me for two forms of id after I watched them cash paychecks for the 4 illegals in front of me with no ID...the girl literally refused to cash a $90 check from a client without a TX DL and a passport....but photocopied driver’s licenses were a okay for the fine gentlemen in front of me.

The left actually loves the fascist model more than the socialist model.

Under the fascist model, they control a few big companies which buy up or put of of business all the small competitors.

And, when there are negative consequences of their policies, they can still blame the private entity instead of taking the blame themselves.
