The Sierra Club has announced its approval for a "one-time" use of civil disobedience. The civil disobedience is intended to step up their efforts to oppose the Keystone pipeline.

Many of the other groups opposing Keystone have been engaging in civil disobedience as a tactic, including arson-based ecoterrorism. This will be the first time in the Sierra Club's history that they have approved violating the law.

>>The Sierra Club has announced its approval for a “one-time” use of civil disobedience. <<

I think a “one-time” use of disobedience to laws governing the discharge of weapons may be in order to keep these yahoos fromm blocking this important project.

Well, from personal experience actually Sierra Club does do this, but what they do is form other front “community activist” groups that then go out and do the civil disobedience. But Sierra Club always has plausible deniability, and when it gets into litigation you can never find out who the actual members of these community activist groups are.

These idiots and their “cause celeb” don’t seem to realize that there are already oil pipelines all over the United States.

Seems to me that they’ve opened themselves to prosecution with this announcement that they have approved illegal activities in pursuit of their goals.

another once beneficial organization that has been taken over by extremists who want control rather than conservation.

Actually it was ALWAYS about control. They just wrapped it in a feelgood package.

Once, long ago, I was on the Florida Executive Committee FLEXCOM)of Sierra Club - sort of makes me a real ex-FLEXCOMmie, doesn’t it.

Do not under-estimate your enviro enemies. Those are not merely granola chompers with delusions of grandeur. They really do believe that in order to save the environment, American capitalism must be destroyed. They also act on their beliefs and help those who are equally dangerous and terrorism inclined.

Yes, they really are small ‘c’ commies.

Only when eco-terrorists are summarily executed will such tactics drop in number. Note I said drop in number, not cease, as enviro true believers are similar to Muslims in that death for the cause is acceptable.

However, if the Sierra Club, and its Board members, were to be prosecuted as a terrorist organization for this latest statement, then such outrageous statements and acts would decline immediately.

The left is a very violent group. Ecoterrorism, Bill Ayres , school shootings, and Occupy anarchists.
They seem to be competing with the muslims when it comes to attacking innocent victims in the U.S..
Terrorism by any other name is still terrorism.

“These idiots and their “cause celeb” don’t seem to realize that there are already oil pipelines all over the United States.”

Yeah, but if all the hydrocarbons there, if released will cause the temperature of the earth to rise than just a little bit less than one hundred and eleventy billion degrees, which would kill off at least 90% of all humans currently living, which is a good thing, oh wait, why is this bad again?

They certainly have. And Holder will get right on it! (he's a tad busy just at this moment with F&F and the new black panthers)

No point in allowing them to change the subject.

I’m sure if we used “one time civil disobedience” to punch them in the mouth, they’d lose their enthusiasm.

My thought exactly, a concerned citizen group should be formed to protect private property with any force necessary.I always thought lethal force was allowed in the case of a felony. I wonder how much eco terrorism would occur if was widely disseminated that they would get their *ss shot off.

Just make sure everyone else is Armed and a Member of a Labor Union, then they would have the Blessing of the Supreme Court and Congress to USE VIOLENCE TO FURTHER THEIR CAUSE.

One of the directors on the board of the Sierra Club is “Captain Coco Puffs”, Paul Watson, of Sea Shepherd. That is an eco-terroist organization.
