Jimmy Carter and some rabid rabbit. Now this fly incident. We need to determine what kind of fly it was, the sex and the reason for the visit.

It's wings are set at angles, like it was a sick fly or a very pregnant one trying to lay eggs that would hatch into maggots. It is well known that carrion attract flies.

I'm an entomologist, but not a fly expert. I'd say it could have been a Tachinid which is the type of fly whose eggs hatch into parasitic maggots.

Drudge pictures does not give me the resolution but other suggestions are Scardophadid flesh eating maggot mother just trying to lay eggs and not necessarily feed.

Could also be a deranged skitzo fly packing heat.

I watch the live trials on TV and have heard many medical examiners and entomologists give their reports.

According to them, flies play an important role in the decomposition of a corpse. They do all kinds of testing on dead bodies at the Tennessee Body Farm to study the decomposition process.

A fly can detect a dead body in 13 seconds. They are drawn to it by the odor. The LOVE the smell of putrid, rotting flesh.
