The buzzing insect stole the show as the President announced his two new members of his second administration, cutting wild loops around the leader of the free world before landing squarely on his forehead.
The official White House transcript simply reads: "This guy is bothering me here - (swatting at a fly.)"
Meanwhile, the pool report which describes the President's movements throughout the day, noted that "the president spoke for about five minutes while being menaced by a house fly".
It wasn't the first time Mr Obama has shared camera time with a fly. In June 2009, the newly-elected president dealt some tough justice to one which interrupted an interview.

What is it with this jerk and flies?I always think of the grandiose, like buckets of unborn blood pouring down from the heavens onto the White House. But this is better. :)

I live on an agricultural farm surrounded by dairy, pig and horse farms.
In the summer, we have your run of the mill flies, horse flies, deer flies, etc. They don’t crawl around on faces.
And this is WINTER for crying out loud!
The only thing I can figure out is he must have a unique odor that draws flies.

Yep, this happening is obvious.
It's wings are set at angles, like it was a sick fly or a very pregnant one trying to lay eggs that would hatch into maggots. It is well known that carrion attract flies.
I'm an entomologist, but not a fly expert. I'd say it could have been a Tachinid which is the type of fly whose eggs hatch into parasitic maggots.
Drudge pictures does not give me the resolution but other suggestions are Scardophadid flesh eating maggot mother just trying to lay eggs and not necessarily feed.
Could also be a deranged skitzo fly packing heat.

It was 28 in Washinton today, and he has flies in the White House??
This aint exactly fly time in Washington.
I live 60 miles away and I haven’t seen a fly since October.
Several things come to mind, no flies should be around unless that WH is kept so toasty all winter, the flies thrive year around. Sanitation issues in the WH including vector control. Summer temperature control (are the hut windows opened?) Strangest thing about this incident is the room full of press and the fly singles out Barry. Where slumlords go, flies will follow.
I’ve seen hundreds of pictures of people in Africa with flies all over their faces. Now i’m just waiting to see him eat one then I will know for sure that he is from Africa.
