More than half the Senate on Wednesday urged quick approval of the Keystone XL oil pipeline, ramping up pressure on President Barack Obama to move ahead with the project just days after he promised in his inaugural address to respond vigorously to the threat of climate change.

A letter signed by 53 senators said Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman’s approval of a revised route through his state puts the long-delayed project squarely in the president's hands.

“We urge you to choose jobs, economic development and American energy security,” the letter said, adding that the pipeline “has gone through the most exhaustive environmental scrutiny of any pipeline” in U.S. history. The $7 billion project would carry oil from Canada to refineries along the Texas Gulf Coast. …

Congress is really stupid!

Just pass the bills you want in both Houses and call arrogant Communist Tyrant Hussein Obama’s bluff.

Double-dog-dare Obama to veto it!

The more Obama vetoes good bills, the sooner Obama will move to the dung heap of History.

“...to respond vigorously to the threat of climate change.”

Obama is going to respond vigorously to the cycles of the sun? How is he going to do that? Or is he the Sun King?

This is so simple. Th US has two choices.

Let TransCanada build the pipeline with their own money. Enjoy the jobs and the energy security of another 800,000 b/d of uninterpretable, ethical oil. Now you don't have to buy oil from Venezuela, Brazil, Saudi, etc.

OR

Let the oil go to your enemy, Red China to feed their economy.

Choose well America.

Yeah; ain’t it funny how regulation cut the railroad network back so far to the point where it’s just five major companies hauling the freight, and they want to try to force the shrunken rail network to haul all this stuff (which it can’t, and this will still induce Canada to sell to Red China).

Just for everybody's information.

Saudi Arabia's oil reserves, if you believe that government, stand at about 250 million barrels.

Canada's recoverable reserves are estimated at 1 trillion barrels. There are another 2 trillion barrels in reserve.

Not counting the reserves, Canada is sitting on four times as much oil as Saudi Arabia. If you count the reserves, you are talking about 12 times more oil than Saudi Arabia.

Don't worry, most Canadians haven't realized what they have, yet. They have no idea what it means.
