Photographs of a French soldier apparently mimicking a character from the popular and violent video game Call of Duty are causing a stir around the world.

In the photos, the unidentified soldier can be seen wearing a skeleton mask and a bandana, making him look eerily similar to the popular character Ghost from Call of Duty.

I’ll restate my position. I am all for killing when it is time to kill. I understand what war is.

I am not about worshipping death. In ancient Israel, thru to today as far as I know, they did not celebrate the killing of their enemies. It is somber work, even if it had to be done. All of those fallen were made in the image of YHVH.

Soldiers have been doing things like this to make themselves appear fearsome since the days when they fought with heavy sticks.

No kidding, just think Indian war paint.

There's something to be said for trying to scare the $#!+ out of the enemy, so that killing is not needed ...

Yes, I noticed something off about it after I posted it. Don’t they actually use those though? I remember seeing them in photos of SEALs before.

My grandfather had some photos from WWII Europe and a couple were of some special forces types who had just come from behind enemy lines. They had things like skull and crossbones painted on their helmets and things like fangs painted on their faces.

Apparently their mission had been more to inspire fear than inflict real damage. In fact they wanted to be seen so they looked for enemies in small groups. Kill 1, 2, or 3 and leave the 4th wounded and unarmed so he would have a story to tell.

Well, I think the French should adopt with them. They can use all the help they can get in reversing their reputation as surrender monkeys. Out with the beret, in with the skull mask!

“Kind of looks like our own SWAT team members.”

Our tough-guy SWAT teams kill dogs, cats, babies and children. When confronted with men, they run under rocks.

Am I supposed to accept anything for a reporter, who thinks that an AMX 10 RC wheeled reconnaissance vehicle and tank destroyer is a tank?
