Reckun ya throw emough money at something,, what? how many trillion ? .. something ought to take eventually. Unfortunately, nations do not always choose the manner of their own self-induced demises.

and Of course , any success is on no way shape or form is connected to any thing done before the Mighty One came onboard.

a surge in Hispanics.. coincidence?

Does A Brave 'New America' Lie Ahead? (or just another plantation nation. this time the slaves are just a different color?)

Until I retired I reviewed a lot of job applications, all from HS graduates. I wouldn’t have let half of them out of third grade.

Yes. So many students have special programs and teachers to do their assignments for them that they can pretend that more students are educated.

I teach classes to prepare students for the ACT and the ASVAB. They are not educated but, hey, it's a job.

Yep. Congratulations on your 'achievement', public educators.

And it only costs us 47 billion a year.

My civics teacher was Miss Mildred Funk, they didn't come any better.

Actually, the reason is quote ironic: there are no jobs to take, so they stay in school.

Most versions of the Dream Act say you have to be in school or college to qualify. Those who are illegal and in school are trying to finish school to qualify for amnesty.

We wouldn’t hired ANY of these mexican HS grads here for our production office. We simply instructed the first group for a spelling test of 50 words and it was a disaster.

They still spell definitely with an “a”. Thank you union teacher!

I doubt seriously that the percentage has changed one bit. What has happened is that they have incorporated the “BLS” Bureau of Lying Statistics model for developing and presenting the statistics. In Chicago it is very easy to change the one figure that drives the results ... they reduce the size of the universe. That is, the number of people possible to graduate. Many die of gang killings, drive by shootings, go to jail, quit going to school, or other disappearances and this reduces the population before they compute the percentage that graduates. If you have a particularly violent year, the graduation percentage could go up 10 or 20%.

Something besides the usual run of depressing union-controlled education performance. Maybe Hispanics are ‘getting it’ and hve the potential be a substantial future Republican constituency. OTOH, imagine how mind-boggling better this situation would be if we enforced our immigration laws. The difference in test scores between legal immigrants and “caucasions” would probably be then probably negligible.

Unfortunately these so called ‘graduates’ are less educated than ninth graders were in1974.

I am appalled at how little is taught in the modern school setting

we have a growing population of Hispanics and they are producing lots of children, and for some here to disparage them for improving themselves and the lives of their children is insane and silly and very ugly.....

I congratulate them.....just like I would have congratulated the Irish immigrants and the German ones and the Italian ones....

I hate illegal immigration, its wrong, but I don't hate the Hispanic population...
