PA:Celebrities join boycott of outdoor show

Exhibitors have been dropping out in what they say is a show of support for the Second Amendment.

Now the celebrities are following.

Several television personalities and expert hunters who were supposed to be on hand at the upcoming Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show to speak to attendees and sign autographs announced over the weekend they will join the growing boycott of the show slated for Feb. 2-10 at the State Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg.

Lee and Tiffany Lakosky, hosts of the television show "The Crush With Lee & Tiffany," lead the list of celebrities boycotting the show as a result of the announcement last week by show organizer Reed Exhibitions that assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines will not be allowed to be displayed or sold at the show this year.

The Lakoskys, deer hunters from Iowa who historically have drawn huge crowds at the Harrisburg show, were supposed to have their own dedicated area in the show's Northwest Hall.

"This was a hard decision, not because of the show and what they did, but that we won't have the opportunity to talk and shake hands with the fans that will be at the show," the Lakoskys stated on their Facebook page.

"But, we can't support a show that doesn't completely support the Second Amendment."

Wow. This is going viral. It is very impressive to hear dedicated deer hunters say:

"But, we can't support a show that doesn't completely support the Second Amendment."

I am no where near PA and I generally say boycotts don’t work. But we got that Hit Piece on Reagan relegated to the cable hinterlands and got whoopie dropped as a spokesliberal for Weight Watchers (IIRC). And spiked ChickFilet sales.

We usually are smarter, more galvanazied and, unlike libtards, WE HAVE MONEY AND ARE THE 99%!!!!

I can’t boycott something I wasn’t going to attend (look for THOSE words on DU/KOS). But if I can forward the concept by bumping, yay me! (yes I bought Chickfilet, yes, I complained to WW, yes I complained to CBS).

If I was a lib company I would be scared to DEATH of a real Conservative boycott because they are so few and usually successful.

Some additional good guys:

Besides the Lakoskys, other celebrities scheduled to appear at the show who have announced they will stay away include Jim Shockey, host of the television show "Jim Shockey's Hunting Adventures," Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo, hosts of "The Archers Choice" television show, Stan Potts, host of "North American Whitetail Television," world-famous bowhunter Fred Eichler and renowned deer hunter and television personality Larry Weishuhn.

Also vowing not to attend are Philadelphia Eagles defensive end and accomplished bowhunter Trent Cole, trick-shot archer and "Fear No Evil" television show host Chris Brackett, the cast of the "Major League Bowhunter" television show, which includes Chipper Jones, Matt Duff and Jeff Danker, and Abner Druckenmiller of FoxPro Game Calls.

Impressive list. I’m especially heartened to see Cabela’s and Trijicon on there. They are both big enough to draw administration attention per the Alinsky manual and Trijicon has gov’t contracts that could be put at risk. Kudos to both (and all the rest) for taking this principled stand.

Apparently, people were paying attention to what happened to Jim Zumbo.

Reed Exhibitions, organizer of the show, has decided “not to include certain products that in the current climate may attract negative attention that would distract from the strong focus on hunting and fishing,” according to a post on the show’s website at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Ed Several, general manager of the show, said the decision will impact five exhibitors out of the more than 1200 registered for the 2013 show, and speculated that

At what point will the entire show be cancelled? That in and of itself is an indirect victory for the gun-grabbing Left, but the boycotters should be lauded for standing firmly on principle.

Reed Exhibitions is the problem. I forget what year the PA Farm Show entity “sold off” the management of organizing the show but I’m quite sure it was when the cost to attend and cost to park started escalating. I quit attending when I found out the profits from the show went out of state.

Reed Exhibitions has no passion for the topics this show is about, or probably most of any of the other exhibitions they manage, but merely collects for putting the show on.

Screw them, I’ll support the local shows that the Lion’s Club, Tall Cedars, fire companies, etc. host.
