Obama’s Declaration of Political War
American Spectator ^ | 1.22.13 | John R. Guardiano

Posted on 01/22/2013 7:35:02 AM PST by Mozilla

In his second inaugural address, Obama makes clear that it’s fight night in America.

snip

Indeed, Obama’s second inaugural address was a liberal wet dream: It pressed all of the Left’s erogenous zones:

• Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security? Obama vowed not to change or reform them — even though they are driving us toward financial insolvency, and even though they provide workers with a relatively lousy return on their investment.

• “Climate change”? It is real, and it must be addressed — now!

• “Sustainable (read: green) energy”? “America cannot resist this transition. We must lead it” — now!

• Women? They suffer wage discrimination, which must be addressed by new governmental action — now!

• Gays? They are the new blacks; and their relationships must be given the same legal status as heterosexual married couples. We mustn’t “discriminate” — children, families, and religious liberty be damned.

• Immigrants and illegal aliens? Hasta la vista, Yankee! Move over, whitey! There’s a new sheriff in town, and his name is Barack. And so, no longer will illegals be “expelled from our country.”

• Defense and foreign policy? “A decade of war is now ending,” insists Obama. Really? Has anyone asked al Qaeda?

We will “engage,” but not militarily, he adds. Instead, “we will show the courage to try and resolve our differences with other nations peacefully.” Again, that’s a very nice sentiment, but does it correspond with the real world?

• Economic growth, which was of central importance in Reagan’s inaugural addresses, is nowhere to be found in Obama’s. The words and the phrase simply doesn’t exist in his vocabulary. Economic growth, instead, is taken for granted.

“Economic recovery has begun,” Obama declares, without offering any ideas whatsoever for how to sustain and promote economic growth.

Um, I hope the author of this article realizes that war is a political function.

It was an absurd speech.

We already have the courage to settle differences without war. Does he understand we were attacked on 9/11? What would his response to 9/11 have been, had he been president?

The science of global warming is hardly settled. It’s a liberal talking point that the science is settled, but the scientific community has no consensus.

How is it that women suffer wage discrimination? He was so proud of signing the Lily Ledbetter act, which makes it easier to file lawsuits on that subject. And equal pay for equal work is part of federal law and has been since 1963. If there is rampant pay discrimination in this area, Obama and Eric Holder have had the legal tools to fight this for the past 4 years. This begs the question of what Obama has done in this area. Or, is the business of pay discrimination against women just another liberal talking point?

Gays? They are the new blacks;

Yep. The liberals keep making that comparison.

If I were black I’d be insulted by that on several levels.

Obama’s flexibility began not on November 6th, but on inauguration day. Fasten your seatbelts. The next year is gonna be bumpy, but not as bumpy as the year after.

"Hey America, you better put some ice on that."

The speech was a progressive manifesto. It outlined Obama’s view of the world. the guy is dictating to the masses what he will do. I say he is dictatorial and totalitarian.

I am sure if another 9-11 happens then his response will be to blame conservatives for the rhetoric of attacking the Islamic faith, attack those mad at Muslim extremists, and to try to talk it out with Islamic nations and extremist groups. he would probably be doing exactly what he did Libya as well.

The guy is all about Liberal talking points. I consider him a Progressive-liberal neo-marxist Islamist.

He didn’t talk about jobs. He didn’t talk about the proliferation of Al Quaeda throuout the middle east and northern Africa. He didn’t talk about the mastermind of the Bengazi terrorist attack that killed our Ambassador and security team. He did talk about his will to destroy his political opposition in the US.

Watching Boehner attempting to ingratiate himself with a petulant First Lady while she stuffed taxpayer provided food in her face, I'm not hopeful for a positive outcome.

My hope is in the Lord. I stuck a fork in the US and western civilization in general in 2010.

Paralyzed today. Dem majority in 2014. "Hello, Comrade!" in 2016.

FU b o. There were enough threads that I could have replied on, and several replies would have gotten me banned or suspended.

Daniel Henninger on the Journal Editorial Report this past weekend compared Obama to a left-wing talk show host.
