Report: Gen. Mattis Forced Out of CENTCOM for Questioning Obama's Advisers
Breitbart ^ | 1/21/13 | AWR Haekins

Posted on 01/21/2013 7:18:42 PM PST by Nachum

Reports indicate that Marine General James Mattis is being forced out of CENTCOM for questioning certain aspects of the Obama administration's Middle East policy.

In particular, it appears his questions surrounding the U.S. response to Iran's nuclear ambitions drew the ire of civilian military and security advisers.

These civilians were apparently upset by the way Mattis pushed them to "consider second and third-order consequences of military action against Iran." Nor did they appreciate the way he pushed them to think long term and consider what the U.S. will do if Iran develops non-nuclear weapons that can be used to keep U.S. ships out of the Persian Gulf.

"... and also Buddhist like meditation training, out of Georgetown no less, for lowering stress and increasing recovery from battle trauma & fatigue, and hopefully decreasing suicide.

We don’t really know what all is going on in our military right now, nor being done *to* our military.

Newer, softer more sensitive Marines. Yet they kick Jesus Christ out. Go figure!

You must show enthusiasm and the proper level of ardor for the dear leader and his minions. Don’t confuse them with facts or reason.

McChrystal is NOT one of us. Neither is Powell, nor Clark.

I've lost count how many generals/admirals etc. have stepped down, taken early retirement, relieved of of command lately.

The problem is if no one enlisted and all those in the military refused to re-up, obama gets exactly what he wants. Then here come the Russians and others after our natural resources.

I was stupid to believe Russia was no longer our enemy when Putin and W buddied up. And I was stupid to believe W.

One could only wish this was going on. But in all truth there have been many other major commands changed, some for the right reasons (nude swimming, embezzlement) but a whole lot (particularly in Africa Command) on “disagreements”.

Obamaumao is destroying the leadership core, and Hagel will help him (Hagel having never risen above a grunt sargent, has little understanding of theater command of a general officer). The real key is— what is happening to our nuclear deterrent, and in particular submarines and Land based ICBMs as regards particularly the chinee and iranians.

It would take more than 7 days. Additional comment: look at the destruction of Petraeus (an expert in counterinsurgency) and this Mattis (a exceptional warrior Marine, who kicks butt— a fighter, the kind whose advice you would think obamaumao would want, but since he can’t accept criticism of himself or his policies, he would not have him around— like Hitler or Stalin killing their generals).

One other thought is— these people as civilians could organize quite a resistance in the homeland n’est-ce pas?

The NDAA which Congress passed empowers the US military to indefinitely detain US citizens without charge or trial when the Executive Branch alleges that they are suspected of supporting terrorist activities.
It is possible that this is the test of whether an officer is kept on or not— that being it would be a “lawful” order in the sense there is a law supporting it. But many consider it to be “unconstitutional” and their oath is to the Constitution...not to the executive.

This is surreal to believe a major military hero might have made such a statement to someone so unknown. The fear fodder immobilizes. Can’t think of a better ploy to set us rubes off into a tailspin. Let’s not be baited.

Heroes, generally, will speak out loud, in the worst of circumstances.

The condescending arrogance starts from the top and works its way through the entire regime.

To RitaOK: re “Heroes general will speak out oloud, in the worst of circumstances”.

In the old days, maybe. Oliver North. Gen. McArthur? Who else since than? Powell? Clark? Schwarzkopf? McChrystall? Zinni? Dempsey?

Obama’s military theme is “We don’t need another hero.”

Unfortunately, he is getting that.

Not necessarily talking about this case, but I hope that many of those being purged from all levels of our military are prepared to stand up to this unconstitutional government to help lead efforts in ridding us of it's tyranny.

We need to be openly and peacefully defiant on a massive scale when it comes to blatant unconstitutional laws and mandates. We have to use new tactics that are a little more extreme if we are going to fight for our Constitution, and everything good that our founding fathers envisioned our nation being. We can peacefully take back many of our liberties, and leave it up to the government to decide if they want violence. If they do want to commit mass murder to enforce their tyranny then it should sat off a righteous firestorm on the tyrants, and instigators by patriots acting in self defense.

When the time comes for choosing and for states to decide if the union is to be preserved, Obama will have remade the military to one that is loyal to him.

“You must show enthusiasm and the proper level of ardor for the dear leader and his minions. Don’t confuse them with facts or reason.”

The General was shown the door. Obama is declaring the end to war dontchaknow!/S

I'd bet BO and Mattis had very different visions of drawdown in Afghanistan.

2/11

“U.S. general “militarily uncomfortable” with Afghan date”

“But we fight wars for a political reason. I hope we do. I hope we are not just fighting for the fun of it,” said Mattis, answering questions after making one of his first major speeches since being appointed to the post last year. Some U.S. and NATO officials have said a spike in violence and problems in building up a capable Afghan army and police force to take over could make it hard to meet the 2014 goal.

Mattis said the Taliban and al Qaeda in Afghanistan were under the most significant pressure since the 2001 U.S.-led invasion “and we intend to keep it that way.”

“The security progress is undeniable,” he said.

“In key areas in Afghanistan the enemy is disoriented and on the defensive,” Mattis said, although he said there would be very tough fighting ahead...”

I believe this is the General BO has slotted to replace Mattis.

General Lloyd Austin, United States Army
