Police chiefs back Obama gun-control plan

San Diego County law enforcement officials expressed strong support for President Barack Obama’s gun-control plans that he laid out in a speech Wednesday.

“I was pleasantly surprised when I heard him take a comprehensive approach,” said Carlsbad police Chief Gary Morrison. “I liked the way he talked about the medical community and the impact of video games on kids, and money to law enforcement and schools to craft emergency response plans.”

President Obama said he would sign 23 executive actions giving law enforcement, schools, and public health community some of the tools they need to reduce gun violence.

San Diego County is one of the more conservative counties in the state so I expect it to be more sane than liberal parts further north. But they all want more money and are, apparently, willing to try and auction off our rights to get it.
