At its core, gun control is about submission, not crime.

Via Beltway Confidential:

President Obama wants tighter gun control laws, but he does appreciate that armed Secret Service agents protect his daughters every day on their way to school.

“It might come in handy to have these super locks,” Obama joked at Master Lock in Wisconsin, noting that he will soon have two teenage daughters. “For now, I’m just counting on the fact that when they go to school there are men with guns with them.”

What is so troubling about this is the fact that we are helpless. When they finally find a way to pass laws that enact socialialized medicine, we say oh well, it was passed in Congress so we lose. When they push every limit to get their gun controls into law, we do the same. This is not how this government was designed, it’s an evil distortion.

“No legislative act, therefore, contrary to the Constitution, can be valid. To deny this, would be to affirm, that the deputy is greater than his principal; that the servant is above his master; that the representatives of the people are superior to the people themselves; that men acting by virtue of powers, may do not only what their powers do not authorize, but what they forbid. ... “

Ironically, the 2nd Amendment is anti-militaristic. The idea is to prevent the central government from achieving a monopoly of force. That is why Lincoln had an army of only 26,000 in 1861, and that crippled by the resignation of many southern officers. To keep the capital from being overrun, he had to depend on the state militia of Massachusetts, which was sent by its government, the commander-in-chief of that state’s forces. Lincoln had called for 75,000 volunteers to put down the rebellion, and the war was fought by state militias on both sides, with a small number obtained by the draft and by the enlistment of freed slaves on the Union side.

The 2nd Amendment Is What Makes The Other Nine Possible . . .

. . . which explains why Obama is trying to subvert it. Once he does away with Amendment II, he can easily do the same with the remainder.

That’s why liberals hate it so much. They don’t believe in any of the other 9.
