One month after the school massacre in Newtown, Conn., President Obama attributed the recent surge of weapons sales to efforts by gun control foes to arouse fears that the federal government would seize firearms.
Obama said he would unveil details of his "sensible, common-sense" program for tighter gun controls later this week. The president, responding to questions at a White House news conference Monday, said those steps would include "an assault weapons ban that is meaningful," stronger background checks and measures to keep high-capacity magazine clips "out of the hands of folks who shouldn't have them."
Asked at his news conference about the boom in weapons sales amid administration efforts to tighten gun rules, Obama said gun control opponents "have a pretty effective way of ginning up fear on the part of gun owners that somehow the federal government is about to take all your guns away."
The administration's gun control agenda is being fashioned by Vice President Joe Biden...

He understands it fully and completely. He just thinks he can ignore it with impunity.
The reason you hear nothing from them is, likely, because they are statists as well.
If the Communists can disarm us, they can beat us.
If they fail to disarm us...they cannot win.
Like most of us, they are trying to wrap their minds around the inconceivable idea that we are indeed under attack by Communists. Being inside the Beltway means that they lack the distance needed for perspective and clear thinking.

Exactly. The operative word is “infringe” just as you say. Anything he does to infringe upon a person's right to have a gun, violates the second amendment so any EO causing that, means Hussein must be impeached. He will laugh his head off thinking anyone could do that to him.

I went to my local gun shop today and saw that all the ARs were sold and even the older version Mini 14 I sold them a year ago—that was there 2 weeks ago finally got sold.

Fears may be well-founded.
It's almost as if nobody is actually listening to what he says, anyway, so he says the most outrageous, contradictory things. At least no-one in the media is calling him on it, and his followers don't notice the fallacies.
Dictators can be scary people. Even though Obama looks like a smirking faggot and putz of a man, it’s the weak and puny minded little farts who abuse power when they get it, and Obama, like Hitler, is as punkish as they come, though not as intelligent.
