Leon Panetta Says U.S. Has Pledged to Help France in Mali

LISBON — In what could draw the United States into another conflict in North Africa, the Obama administration has pledged to help the French who are fighting Islamist militants in Mali, and that assistance could include air and other logistical support, Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta said on Monday.

Defense officials would not rule out the possibility that American military transport planes might land in Mali, where the United States has been conducting an ambitious counterterrorism program for years. American spy planes and surveillance drones are in the meantime trying to get a sense of the chaos on the ground. The defense officials would not discuss whether the United States has armed drone aircraft over Mali. . .

The commander of Delta Force was giving a briefing to the National Security Council in November 1979 about the upcoming mission to free American hostages at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran. Deputy Secretary of State Warren Christopher expressed outrage when Colonel Charles Beckwith said it would be necessary to kill any armed Iranian militants who resisted. “Can't you just shoot them in the shoulder?” Christopher asked.

they started to wak up in 2010 because mainly of GlennBeck etc but the tea party stopped, the protests stopped and now many have gone home afriad of being called a name.

Our rights get taken away or are attacked and nothing but a stinking letter from our reps and yet homosexuals lets say who have the same rights as us and certainly don;t have a constitutional right to marry get out and intimidate folks and silence them.

enough is enough, after watching that crap by the wanna be king pissed me off to no end

crazy times.. shades of Vietnam and deja vu, they end up retreating we do clean-up,, haven’t we learned yet? colonial affairs redux or what? the french and british really mucked the place up before we came along. good thing Kerry will be in charge soon. lol ;-)

These guys stand off about 8,000 miles and drop the hammer via a flying robot. That's probably worse karma than the 5.56 mm method.
