President Barack Obama plans this week to present 19 separate executive orders on gun control and will press for comprehensive legislation to expand gun-purchase background checks, lawmakers made privy to the president’s agenda said Monday, according to the New York Times.

The biggest congressional fight on gun control in early 20 years—which also includes efforts to ban assault weapons and high-capacity clips—could be launched as soon as Wednesday, the Times reports.

But considering the president’s expected inability to get acceptance for his plan through Congress, Obama will not shy away from using executive orders for restrictions he deems necessary, according to the Times.

Those actions are expected to include limits on guns imported from overseas, pressure on federal agencies to improve sharing of mental health records, and directing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to conduct research on gun violence, according to lawmakers informed of the president’s plans, the Times reports. …

“pressure on federal agencies to improve sharing of mental health records”

Roe v Wade was a decision that was to protect the (supposed) right to privacy between a doctor and patient. His executive order mandating the elimination of that privacy will effectively dictatorially negate Roe! He is doing what they were projecting was Romney’s end goal.

Idiot libtards never learn!

Whenever I see "comprehensive" in front of "legislation" I know it's bad. And it was a Republican who came up with that doublespeak.

“And the Congress will not shy away from impeaching him nor the military from overthrowing him.”

Dreamer. There is no way the senate will go with it.

I pray you are correct. This shall not stand. (And I probably do need to get out more.)

I guess government psychiatrist on O’s dole will deem who is “mentally ill” or not. I’m guessing the new national gun registration list will be handed to them and they will work off that list from the gun owners with the largest caches first then move on to the Tea Party list and so on. This sounds an awfully like methods used by tyrants in the past...King Charles, King James II, Hitler, Stalin, Marx, Castro, Mao Tze Tung, Chavez, etc...I see a clear pattern here. When will the liberal idiots with all of their self poclaimed intellectual supremacy finally admit that history always repeats itself and that men never change?

SR1911s....I’ve since added ambidextrous safeties from Novak (Ruger Special),

My SR1911 is equipped with tritium night sights and a Crimson Trace. Awesome gun! I love it! It fits in nicely with my other three Rugers.

I think the key to this is all of this talk about mental health. It must have something to do with Obamacare.. and just think.. if the Democrats and the media get to decide who is crazy, and take their guns away the crazy people..WHO will they pick???

They have already let us know that the NRA, the homeschoolers and the Prepers are on the list, with the”Sandy Hook” coverage.

Who else is “crazy”?

Good point. Usually, these guys don’t pick and choose, they just ram it through. It is only later that we find out what it really said. That seems to be their M.O. but nothing would surprise me at this point.

No gun control is going to pass through Congress and Oblahblah does not have the authority to ban tactical rifles and high cap mags by EO.

Broad authority to regulate firearms was given to the Executive branch by the National Firearms Act of 1934 and the Gun Control Act of 1968. Under these statutes the Fed established the BATFE, which issues ongoing rulings about administrative questions as they arise, such as "Does this [insert device name here] constitute an NFA weapon under Federal law?"

I suspect that the President does have broad authority under these acts to provide direction to BATFE about how he wants the laws administered, such as (for example) putting all weapons that are cosmetically similar to military rifles on the NFA list, making them subject to federal registration and a $200 transfer tax.

So yeah, I think he can do this. More importantly, HE thinks he can do this. Whether he's right or not will be for the courts to decide, most likely several years from now.

Like I said he can try but its going to be his undoing. Obama is no different from Stalin or Mao. They think there is no line in the sand. Guns are the line in the sand here.

Obama is no different from Stalin or Mao.

Perhaps, but I hope not. Both of those guys were in power for a very long time.

I move that we limit EOs to no more than seven per term, if it’s good for ammunition, it should be good for the far more dangerous EOs

“Military’s and socialist leaderships get along great.”

Our military does not get along with this government and they are starting to rumble ominously. BTW even Harry Reid is strongly back peddling on a assault weapons ban or other forms of gun control. Just heard him on CNN. I bet he has been given the “Dutch Uncle’s” talk too.

He’s issuing 19 EOs and I have a 20 round magazine. Coincidence? I think not.

I love Ruger

MK II
LCP in .380
Vaquero in .44 mag
10/22
Ruger .44 carbine
Mini-14
Model 77 in .308W

Not that I own those Rugers of course, that would be excessive. Right.

"Buy ammo. Good luck. I went to 2 WalMart stores this morning. They had nothing but a few shotgun shells. Everything else was empty."

Too bad. I bought 3 100 round boxes of 40 cal, 4 50 round boxes of 45. They had plenty of 270, 30-06, 308, and shot gun ammo but were out of 223. Walmart will continue to sell guns and ammo. The clerk mentioned they can't sell what they can't buy. There is a major back order for some ammo. That is good in a way. The citizen patriot is becoming armed to the teeth.
