Argentina is using this issue as a distraction from their internal failures.

One would think Argentina would have better things to do.
They’re sitting on top of shale gas resources almost as large as those in the USA.

One of the problems with how this war was fought last time and probably this time again is that all hostile action took place on the Falkland Islands and the surrounding waters. Argentina knows that it is not subject to attack. Would they act differently if there was the possibility that Buenos Aires would be bombed, for instance?

ahead of the March referendum on the Falkland Islands future Who exactly has a vote in this referendum? Falklanders only? Brits at large? If the former (which I suspect), why - since it seems the Brits at large are footing the bill?
