TAYLOR, Mich. (WXYZ) -

A chaotic scene erupted at the Taylor Human Services Center when the crowd waiting for a Section 8 housing voucher distribution got out of control.

The center is located at Eureka and Lange Roads. That's on Eureka, between Beech Daly and Inkster.

Police say thousands of people from all over the area were at the center. Many were homeless, single moms, or disabled. They were hoping to get help paying for their housing from the government.

"There was elderly, disabled people, pregnant single women. They were here for help, to get their Section 8 vouchers. It just shows you what a desperate need... some were here since yesterday," said Rhianna Rodriguez.

7 Action News is being told there were 1,000 vouchers available and 5,000 people showed up trying to get one.

Exactly. People have figured out voting for benefits is easier than working for them. Shame on our Gov’t for failing these people.

Free Stuff for Holder’s People. Yep, “Obama’s Sons” had a taxpayer funded “Groupon” scheme before the rest of us even knew what it was.

"Before you buy your next house, make sure there is no Section 8 housing nearby. Even the nicest subdivisions can have Sec 8 housing nearby."

The government tries to establish section 8 housing even in the best neighborhoods. If there are houses in there with government back loans that default/foreclose, HUD will often turn them into section 8 housing. In the early 80's, I saw them destroy a beautiful new subdivision that way.

LOL, in some areas if the feds attempted to destroy a nice neighborhood with Section 8 housing there would be some unexplained fires, believe me.

NOT TO WORRY!!!! Under the direction of puppet boy his a##clowns have deliberatley crashed the housing market, Fanny and freddie pick up all the forclosures and the regime puts section 8 supporters in them. there they fixed it! Refi’s go under many names but the underlying machine you dont know about is government run fannie and freddie who will redistribute your forclosed home to the “I have a humanitarian right to housing” crowd. We feed them we give the medical we give them car service to the entitlement offices and doctors, we give them cell phones, housing, internet, school breakfast, lunches and dinner, childcare, prenatel care, birthing, welfare social security, disability. Isnt it nice to know where your tax dollars are going?

Whoa, whoa...! Take it easy!
Didn't you hear? The Republicans control the US House of Representatives where, according to the US Constitution, ALL spending is appropriated. So there's nothing to worry about. We taxpayers are well protected against the kind of Democrat recklessness, corruption, and malfeasance you describe.

(cough)

I have several rental properties and there is NO WAY I would ever rent to a Section 8 recipient.

What do you have against wild animals?

Don’t they get kicked out of the program if they are bad tenants?

You need to get out in the real world more often. It’s not what you think it is.

Ok, I don’t have an idea what it is then. Please explain so I know, would you? I have a prospective tenant who has Section 8.

You would think that they would kick them out of the Section 8 program if they were bad.

Just wait until you have to work with the Section 8 authority to get rid of “bad” renters. Then, you will know what happens in the real world.

I’ve seen it happen many, many times and some friends who made the mistake of renting section 8 don’t do that any more since they learned the hard way.

First of all you have to realize that by far, the majority of section 8 renters begin “bad.” They are lazy criminals ripping off taxpayers like myself and others simply because they can. From that point on, law, morals, integrity, and the whole host of words that denote responsibility don’t mean anything.

Through my lifetime I have had times (with a family) that I was “dirt poor” but never took any charity or money from anyone, including the government. I simply put my head down and found work to support them. Believe me, it’s out there.

Section 8 people don’t claim any responsibility for the fact that they are in the situation they find themselves.
