Isn’t that the truth. That campaign was my first glimpse of how strong the Illegal Alien lobby was inside the GOP. Instead of receiving support we had to battle the GOP establishment.

And what happens will be the very same thing that always happens. We lose another chunk of real estate and the Dems gain it.
And by supporting the people who support liberal policies, we merely slice our own throats. We have seen the same thing for years. Excuses by GOP fanboys claiming that they HAVE to give up X now for Y later.
We never got Y. We did not get it when Reagan gave up Amnesty.
We did not get Y when Bush 1 gave up taxes.
We did not get Y with anything from Clinton.
We did not get Y from Bush 2 when he caved to libs on the WOT, fighting it by their rules.
And Obama should be obvious to all.
So you have an unbroken line of compromise (and Reagan ADMITTED he made a mistake) from the 80s to today. That doesn’t even begin to cover the crap prior.
