Shocked journalists this afternoon were quick to react to the Drudge Reports controversial header photo comparing President Obama to Hitler and Stalin. The item linked to a Weekly Standard article reporting that President Obama was willing to address the gun issue with an executive order.
Hitler and Stalin! exclaimed BuzzFeed Editor Ben Smith on Twitter alerting most of his followers by linking directly to the Drudge Report.
Drudge rules our world, responded Slate journalist David Weigel to Smiths post on Twitter, later adding sarcastically, SOMETHING SHOCKING HAS BEEN POSTED ON THE INTERNET.
Our right is nuttier than your right (US to 193 countries), wrote the Al-Monitors Laura Rozen.
The Washington Posts Greg Sargent begged his followers not to talk about or visit the Drudge Report.
Dear everyone: Talking about how Drudges visuals are ruse to get attention = giving Drudge attention, he wrote.
Also, dont link to Drudge link to twitpic, the Washington Posts James Downie added.
Why didnt @Drudge just go all the way and put Obamas photo between Adolph and Josef? asked Michael Rosten, a social media editor for the New York Times.
The new gold standard in Godwins Law violations, wrote Business Insiders Joseph Weisenthal in reaction to the picture.
Seriously Drudge? asked Newsweeks Michael Moynihan who added a link to one of his own columns, Someone needs to read my @tabletmag column.
Yep, Obama is just like Hitler and Stalin by trying to clean up databases on gun purchases and violence, Sam Stein from the Huffington Post tweeted sarcastically.
Has the Drudge Report ever been Drudgier than it is right now? tweeted The Washington City Papers Mike Madden.
Drudge thinks that there hasnt been enough Drudge talk lately, surmised Mike Memoli a reporter in the Tribune/LA Times DC Bureau.
Really? Drudge is shocking people? asked Roll Calls David Drucker sarcastically. Cmon.
Whoa. Drudge sending a message today. Wow, tweeted Breitbart.coms Matthew Boyle.
So Drudge is right now comparing President Obama to Hitler and Stalin on his homepage, reported John Avlon, a Senior Columnist for Newsweek & The Daily Beast.
Current splash on Drudge Report should satisfy the entirety of their mouthbreather audience, tweeted the Huffington Posts Drew Guarini.
Disgusting, tweeted The Huffington Posts Amanda Terkel retweeting a Teletubbies parody of the controversial headline tweeted by the @HuffPostHill account. The message read: Drudge has crossed the line: pic.twitter.com/BYCn6MPE

After years of similar accusations against Bush that they ignored, suddenly they are shocked — shocked, I tell you!
Consequences of having a foreigner in the White House.
Well, there is an old saw about cooking a frog.
Put it in boiling water and it immediatly knows it is in trouble (e.g. conservatives) and jumps out vs putting it in a pot of cool water and slowly turning up the heat (liberals).
By the time liberals- and the frog - finds it’s being cooked, it will be too late.
Drudge did good, when he ran those two pics.
it’s shocking to msm journalists becuase someone actually published the truth for a change.
The image doesn’t work.
One puppet master with two puppets makes sense. Two puppet masters with one puppet does not.
Too bad he forgot Mao.
I am currently reading “The Roosevelt Myth” by John T. Flynn, (originally published in 19480 and I am horrified by the parallels between their political careers, their economic illiteracy, their self-importance, and their overall incompetence/naivete’.
When Archie Bunker sang about how “We could use a man like Hoiboit Hoover again”, you have NO idea how correct he was!
The press has been in the dimrats’ pockets FAR longer than you realize.
Oh PLEASE, America, WAKE UP!
Those snots are so out of touch.
Nothing shocking at all.
Drudge was right on!
And how exactly can the GOP combat that? I have no idea.
So, when the Hollywood crowd made a Movie about assassinating President Bush, a sitting President at the time, all these “Journalists” rose up in outrage?
I must have missed that.
bttt
Well, at least he hasn’t gotten us into a big war yet. I will be so glad when my son gets home from Afghanistan.
Bush loved America. The Obama communist monster dictator hates America and wants America destroyed
there is a stranger in our house.
Good for Drudge. Finally someone says the truth
How fun— the metrosexuals are all weighing in.
Lol, these Leftists don’t like history!
Good for you Drudge. Good to see someone willing to tell it like it is. It would be nice if the spineless and gutless Republicans would sit up and take notice instead of cringing like wilting pansies under their rocks.
Puh-leeze. If Bush loved America, why did he do so much for Mexican illegal aliens?
Every time they publish a half-truth or an outright falsehood, they need to be sued.
Hold them accountable financially. Tie them up in court for years. Bankrupt them until they’re too frightened to do anything but report the bare facts.
He was wrong on that and the GOP congress slapped him down on that (Amnesty). Bush still loved America.
focus, your rights are being taken away by a communist monster named Obama Bush is no longer president . I know you may be liberal but you are wrong too as all democrats want to do is take away individual rights like gun ownership rights and freedom.
I can’t believe this nightmare . The greatest society ever ( the U.S.) and the news media gets a piece of crap , communist, anti-American ,monster elected dictator for life.
Sometimes I feel like is this real, is this piece of crap really president? and then I feel like after waking up from a nightmare and you say “oh it was only a nightmare” but you then realize you are in the nightmare. the horror. All I want is secession.
Left-wing journalists evidently are mentally retarded.
Or Maybe Drudge Report should put Obama’s photo between Idi Amin and Robert Mugabe
Yes, and that is exactly why we can never give up our firearms. I do not trust the community organizer from Chicago as far as I can throw him.
They media people that tweeted in a his sy miss the point. I viewed Drudge today as saying Obama’s actions on guns are the same as those of Stalin and Hitler. The context the twits miss is the discussion is about taking away guns.
Are the policies of the three men the same when it comes to guns?
Community organizer = communist agitator
The excruciating pain of the truth.
Obama’s face framed between a couple of Chicago gang bangers.
The definitive argument to my mind is in this video:

I agree with Whittle. I don’t like people comparing the President of the USA to either Josef Stalin or Adolf Hitler, but what I really detest is the selective outrage.
No one seems to have noticed that last week Obama gave “Executive Order” Amnesty to 1 million MORE illegal immigrants.
In 2012, he gave “Executive Order” Amnesty to 1.8 million illegal DREAM Act immigrants.
Just 8.2 million more illegals to go!
You mean, the liberal pom-pom wearing MSM jornOlists are shocked about their god being compared to their other heroes in Stalin? I’m shocked ..s/
Exactly. People need a history lesson. When will they wake up?
So, to the leftist chattering class, the shocking thing is not behaving like a dictator, it’s being called out for it. I get it.
Who cares what the journo-lists think.
They conspired to install this puke, they own it. F em. Let’s make a map with their names and addresses.
‘W’s sister in law is Mexican ~ allegedly here legally (married to the fat Bush). She had undue and unfair influence on him.
That's mostly because they are ~
The Leftwing faction in media is the Country’s greatest threat.
This reminds me of an old saying. Not sure who said it.
If you throw a rock into a pack of dogs, the one that yells the loudest is the one that got hit
Hoover was a disaster on fiscal matters similar to Bush. What we need is another Calvin Coolidge.
