Obama Inauguration Invocation to Be Delivered by Medgar Evers' Widow

Myrlie Evers-Williams, widow of civil rights activist Medgar Evers, will deliver the invocation at President Barack Obama's second public inauguration on Jan. 21, event organizers announced Tuesday.

Evers-Williams, 79, will reportedly be the first woman and non-clergy member to deliver one of the most public prayers in America's political history.

"I am humbled to have been asked to deliver the invocation for the 57th inauguration of the President of the United States -- especially in light of this historical time in America when we will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement," Evers-Williams said in a statement released by the Presidential Inauguration Committee.

"It is indeed an exhilarating experience to have the distinct honor of representing that era," she added.

President Obama will be officially sworn in to his second term in office on Jan. 20 in a private ceremony, and the public ceremony including the invocation and benediction will take place on Jan. 21, on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Evers-Williams' prayer will come at the beginning of the Jan. 21 inauguration ceremony, while evangelical pastor Louie Giglio, founder of the Passion movement, which teaches students about human trafficking, will deliver the benediction.

Says Hussein will be sworn in privately Jan.20 and publicly Jan.21. So, like last time, we have a non-public swearing in where they will use his real name, his legal name, which might be Barry Soetoro and was not on any ballot or other election paperwork. Then there is the public swearing in for the Sheeple to consume. The usurpation continues.

For those who don’t know:

Medgar Wiley Evers (July 2, 1925 – June 12, 1963) was an African-American civil rights activist from Mississippi involved in efforts to overturn segregation at the University of Mississippi. He became active in the civil rights movement after returning from overseas service in World War II and completing secondary education; he became a field secretary for the NAACP.

Evers was assassinated by Byron De La Beckwith, a member of the White Citizens’ Council. As a veteran, Evers was buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery. His murder and the resulting trials inspired civil rights protests, as well as numerous works of art, music, and film.

I do not have a problem with who is praying or that the person is a woman.......I have a problem with obama being sworn in and putting his finger again in the eye of the citizenry.

I will be ignoring these festivities in toto, just as I did in 2009. Everything about the Kenyan stinks in my nostrils and fortunately I’m not yet legally required to pay attention to him.

Will they mention that four years after Medgar Evers death, the man who murdered him would run as a Democrat for Lt. Governor of Mississippi? Will anyone point out that Medgar Evers older brother is a Republican?
