Now I have another reason to never shop there.

Plus the store is usually over-run with "WalMartians".

DRogo: “Agreeing to attend does mean you agree with those attending.”

Didn’t say it did, just suggesting we let them know that the penalty from us for agreeing with Ø might be as high or higher as what the DOJ might try.

Tolerance Sucks Rocks:

“Their Chinese suppliers asked them to go. );-)”

Coming up in April, it will be 4 years since I set foot in a Walmart. Not for any political reasons, just because I saw first hand how they treat their employees.

I never understood how people could be so loyal to them, wearing their 10 year, and sometimes 20 year badges.

I originally looked forward to having a nice long career with them. I lasted 9 months.

agreed.

I am trying.

Bought some more ammo, new reloading press and scale, 3 sets of new dies, some brass, primers and other reloading supplies. Was lucky, even found some new brass for a Model 71 Winchester .348

We have had shot shell reloading equipment since I was a kid, but did not bother with the rifle stuff. I did load for my XP100 .221 fireball. That is a tack driver.

Seriously do not expect to need them, but if the insanity spreads I will be able to hunt and feed my family.

>> Besides, what would he do?

There are dozens of active and passive ways a state governor can interfere with federal law enforcement within the state’s borders.

Of course it’s all hypothetical gum-flapping at this point — including *your* skeptical pushback — because there IS no EO. When (if) we know the details of the actual EO, we can argue about some specific actions the governor might take (or not).

Wal-Mart would love for gun shows to be illegal, and for the regulations and insurance requirements for gun sales to make it very hard to be in that business: less competition.

Anybody remember K-Mart? And Rosie “Spoons Made Me Fat” O’Donnell being hired as a spokes-pig? Look what happened to their business once 2A supporters took action.

Once it’s clear that Wal-Mart or any other business is working to usurp the 2A, the NRA and GOA need to come together and organize a massive boycott. I’ve lived without shopping at Wal-Mart for years. It’s not that tough.

This is the email I just sent to Walmart:

Dear Walmart: Our entire family is disappointed that you have allowed yourself to be blackmailed into meeting with Vice President Biden concerning this administration’s desire to destroy our 2nd amendment rights. More laws will not stop criminals and madmen.

Instead of supporting Mayor Bloomberg’s absurd stance on guns, you should have asked him to dismiss his own armed police escort and see how the hypocrite would respond to that. There are numerous incidents where law-abiding citizens were able to protect themselves and others because they had a gun. The mass shootings in this country are at places that have been designated to be “gun-free”. The 2nd amendment is NOT about hunting.

I shop at Walmart 2 or 3 times a week, and do most of my grocery shopping there, but if you continue to cower and grovel at the feet of those who would prefer innocent citizens become helpless victims, I will never buy another thing from Walmart.

Have you read their corporate statement on guns? This isn’t the first time they have bent over for the leftists. They also have incrediby stupid policies on other PC causes. This makes me so angry! The people who took over from Sam Walton have ruined a once great company.

I am growing very convinced, fellow Freepers, that this whole gun controversy is the administration deliberately provoking rage in much of the country’s conservative citizens. Could all this be a deliberate misdirection campaign to obscure something else which is going on which the administration doesn’t want our attention on? Please stop jumping up and down for a minute and consider this possibility. Something else may be going on, and I think we are all being played like a piano on this issue.

Agreed. Wonder what we are missing?

If I were a Liberal politician-type and I wanted some extra $$$$ I would invest in some gun/ammo companies and then start blabbering about gun control and confiscation. I'd make much MORE $$$$.

Walmart should ‘dance with the folks that brung ‘em’... and that sure as hell ain't a bunch of liberal elites.

I guess now that Walmart's learned the MSM was down on them because they didn't advertise in newspapers - and they've corrected that - they feel accepted. They're not.

Fools.

Will Walmart be backing gay marriage and pushing for tax supported abortions next? Maybe they can find a place sitting next to JC Penney - or the old Circuit City boys...

Like a lot of big corporations, Walmart has been infiltrated by Leftists. Every issue of their company magazine features some self-congratulatory article on some green initiative that the company has implemented. And there are other examples along these lines, of course. You can complain, but I'm not sure that they'll listen.

That’s one fight I would be willing to get in the middle of (no weapons of course). Taunt them until they decide to attack, and THEN call your buddies (who of course are standing nearby) into the fray. Would be worth a night in the slammer...

What do you want to bet that our Governor Perry would refuse to enforce an unconstitutional EO in Texas, should it come down to that?

I don't think Governor Perry is in any mystery as to which way the wind blows in Texas. I'd bet good money that he and our Attorney General, Greg Abbott, will give the Obot regime the appropriate Texan response to any attempt on our gun rights.

You have a very realistic view, I am afraid, of the “aims” of many of our Congressmen who magically become wealthy while in office through discrete investments. But I’d bet people in Congress are not the people orchestrating this campaign, if it is a campaign; they would just coolly feed off it and try to keep their options open. Conservatives out in flyover country are being deliberately worked into a fury. WHY? —The other instant fury-inducing topic is any mention of changing the rules for 401K’s, but that beehive isn’t being kicked. This one, guns, is. It would be nice if Rush smoked a cigar or two and thought about the reason for this pattern now in play. You may not like Rush, of course, but I think he is a sane and pretty sharp mainstream conservative.

:) Oh, I like Rush. I just cannot take much news about the current administration’s activities...makes my stomach boil, so I have to turn the radio off.

The Liberals/Marxists want an “incident”/excuse, that’s why they are kicking that particular bee hive. So many “incidents” where a person was IN the field of psychiatry, or being treated by one. A person could think all these “incidents” are being manipulated by the Marxist-left a la Manchurian candidate...or maybe there is just too much evil.

I feel the same way as you do about the news these days- I usually have to turn off the radio after Rush’s first hour, and to listen to the first, I have to be out walking briskly. I’ve gotten a lot of exercise this winter so far.
Let’s hope there is no dramatic made-for-tv “incident” and that a now reportedly growing backlash over guns creates a kind of overwhelming consensus of rejection of totalitarian policies that apparently hasn’t really appeared yet for Obamacare’s effects on traditional religious freedom.
I have enjoyed talking to you today and wish you well - I will watch for your comments in the future, too.

How long are we going to grouse in the cozy comfort of our in-doors?

Most people aren't likely to lift a finger - no different than last time an assault weapons ban passed in the Clinton era. Actually, there used to be FAR more restrictions on our second amendment rights throughout much of the country. Conservatives had won this argument from the mid 90's till now. Unfortunately the country is moving left pretty rapidly now and that means the 2nd amendment is in trouble again.

Sadly, the right is currently so splintered that I don't think we are capable of fighting off much of anything Obama and his goons do at this moment. And while the nation is spending itself into oblivion, a side effect of this sort of slow motion debt collapse is that there is plenty of money and stuff around for everyone to keep themselves occupied with on the way down the fiscal sinkhole. We'll all be fat and happy till the whole economic house of cards implodes. I'd say the most we can do right now is just prepare for that day. Who knows, maybe we can kick the debt can down the road further than anyone thinks.
