STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Staten Island immigrants as a group were hit hard by Hurricane Sandy and continue to suffer economic and emotional hardships.

But most, perhaps 60 percent, haven't applied to FEMA for help, with the fear of deportation a major factor. And even if they have filled out the paperwork, chances are they'll be denied, according to the advocacy group Make the Road New York.

Farmer Agustin Juarez of Port Richmond, a member of the group, expressed frustration that he suffered thousands of dollars in damage in the storm but isn't eligible for FEMA assistance because he's not a citizen.

So people who are here illegally, don’t pay taxes, and are probably working illegally are worried about asking for a tax payer funded handout?

hmmmmm, whats so bad about that? If they need help they can go to a charity and then go home.

Perhaps Mr. Agustin Juarez should apply to his home country for help....the country he should be living in. Sheesh. These parasites certainly are demanding when something goes wrong in their plan to milk this country like a goat.

How do they know it is 60% of them haven’t applied? I thought we couldn’t identify them. Doesn’t your heart break for a criminal trespasser who only pay tax on purchases made with EBT cards and he can’t get a government handout. Boo hoo

Immigrants, apply for help.

Illegal immigrants, pick up whats left of your belongings and go home. All the way home.

So he’s an illegal. Arrest him, seize any property he may have, jail him, deport him. He’s a felon. No tears here.

These are just wonderful stories; the inevitable reaction being sought is “we just have do more to reach out to them”. Anecdotes and made up nonsense become public policy. Sick.

Pity, my backside bleeds for them.

GO HOME.

Today the Times had a story about how much the government spends on immigration control....something like 14 billion. Of course this number is BS but none the less we could commission a lot of boats to take everyone out of here who is illegal. Call me tyrant or a non compassionate person, I don’t care. I want my government to secure this country and if they cannot or will not do it, my “government” can take the first of these boats out of here. In fact, the illegal immigrant in the whitehouse can be the first to go IMO.
