I think I hear Boehner crying again. 2014 will see a Dem House again unless the Repubs find some guts. Meanwhile, support for repealing the 22nd Amendment grows.

The GOP will agree to split the difference. Obama will toss in a few billion in spending cuts in the next century to allow them to save face.

Why sure they're asking for more. This is the way the marxist negotiate.

Promise lies to get bills passed, then reach yet again.

When will the Republican party learn their tactics? Wait...perhaps the Republican party has bee infiltrated by the marxist.

Hmmmm, if I were a marxist, how best to defeat your enemy?

Infiltrate! This may explain why Republicans in congress seem to be turncoats when critical votes come before them.

Worth considering.

So what kind of new tax is Bronco Bama going to seek to make up this difference? A national sales tax, a broadly-based excise tax, a value-added tax, or possibly doubling down on the taxes on medical appliances and medical services?

A tax on tea bags, maybe?

C’mon, Bronco, run with it. But first, you MIGHT like to look at the words of the Declaration of Independence, to gain a little perspective, and re-read the Fourteenth Amemdment, to see where the authority of unilaterally raise the US Federal debt limit does NOT exist.

Calls for repealing the Twenty-Second Amendment are the sound of the wind in the eaves, and signify nothing.

And in the Obama tax/spending bill will be scads of millions to pork projects ranging from grants to find out why frogs swim and subsidies to African violet growers.

It’s easy to spend other peoples’ money.

He can demand all he wants, but a sputtering economy can produce only so much tax revenue before it takes a nose dive (and then it will produce even less).

The House doesn’t need to do anything. They can just sit by the side of the tracks and watch the approaching wreck.

They have voted and voted and voted to no avail.

They need not act, they need only to react to cleanup the wreck debris

They are the House of Representatives. They control Spending and taxation. The people voted.

And he will not even need to threaten to mint a platinum coin. He is 110% confident he can roll the Pubbies on this.

Food stamps aren't very useful in an empty grocery store.

Why doesn't Ø just mint the trillion in platinum? Or, just "invoke" the Reconstruction-era 14th Amendment?

Whenever I read tax headlines like this I am reminded of the cigarette tax in New York. The tax went up and tax revenues went down.

This will be a very “exciting” year, kinda like a disaster movie is exciting.

Folks, let me reassure you: Boehner and McConnell are all over this. We have nothing to fear...they're going to stand tough on this! /sarc

I find “/sarc” tags so unnecessary when describing the GOP anymore. :-P

I'm also fairly sure Laura Ingraham is once again chastising the Conservative Tea Party types with: “Hey, this is the best deal Boehner could get. Now sit down, and shut up!”

I remember she did this when Boehner gave Obama a trillion for basically nothing after Obama was elected. How's that working out for the nation Laura?

As much of a communist muslim ahole as Obama was last term, he has more flexibility this term. He will be as Communist, Fascist, and pro-Muslim as he wants. He doesn’t care.
