A national initiative aimed at curbing gun violence was launched by former US. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, Mark Kelly, on Tuesday -- the second anniversary of the shooting that killed six people and left her critically injured.
A new campaign website, Americans For Responsible Solutions, promised to “launch a national dialogue and raise funds to counter influence of the gun lobby.”
The couple last week visited Newtown, Conn., where a gunman opened fire in an elementary school, killing 20 children and six adults in December. They also met with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a gun control advocate.

you would have thought that a politician out in public talking with the voters in a large group would have had police presence or a private guards stationed about.
I am not a politician, nor do I play one on TV...but if I was going out in public glad handing, I do believe I would have brought along protection in one form or another.

During the Obamacare fiasco, she didn’t want to meet with ANY constituents. After a series of protests outside her vacant Tucson office forced her hand, she made it clear at the townhall meetings that there was only ONE constituent she cared about - Nancy Pelosi.
Giffords managed to get reelected after boasting of her endorsement by the VFW. The truth was the VFW PAC endorsed her, and then the VFW disbanded their PAC and repudiated the endorsement - but that didn’t stop Gabby from flooding the area with signs saying the VFW supported her.
She was a lying bitch turned into a political saint by being shot by a madman. She refused to resign her seat until she had enough time in to get a lifetime pension and healthcare, and she will now ride the political fame of being shot for the rest of her life.
Her husband sucks too...

Just watched her “interview” on Yahoo. Her husband talked a lot, and once in a while she would whisper “Strength” or “Peace”.

How involved was Giffords in the planning or was this arranged by one of her staffers?
The only reason Giffords is alive is that Federal Judge Roll (a conservative) blocked a deadly bullet from hitting her. He was killed doing that. He got half a sentence coverage from the media. “Judge Roll, one of the victims in the Gabby Giffords shooting was buried today, while Gabby Giffords continues to improve..... Gabby gabby gabby...”. I think the little girl got a couple sentences, but it was all Gabby.

I think we need to somehow post adult, mature, constructive comments on this website (if it totally loads up for you) and explain that they WILL NOT succeed in taking away any type of gun away from us, discpite their “reasonable” tone and demeanor...
Obviously something else is driving this effort now, so that needs to be defeated at all costs...

“Gabby” survived her ordeal. Meanwhile, the US Constitution remains under assault and is on life support.
They did the same with Jim Brady - wheeling this poor guy out in a wheelchair at every fund-raiser, using him like a Ju-Ju doll to get the attendees to feel sorry and fork out the bucks.

Ms Giffords took an oath when she took her place in the House of Representatives to defend the United States Constitution, as did her husband.
Where, Mr and Ms Giffords, did that oath give you permission to “defend” only the parts of the Constitution with which you agree?
