Defying U.S., Abbas Orders “State of Palestine” Terminology

Five weeks after the Obama administration asserted that a United Nations vote on upgrading the Palestinian entity’s status “does not establish that Palestine is a state,” Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday ordered that all references to the Palestinian Authority be changed to the “State of Palestine.”

From passports to postage stamps, diplomatic mission titles to official stationery, the name of a state that does not legally exist will replace that of the self-rule administration established under the Oslo Accords, brokered by the Clinton administration in the early 1990s.

A week ago, in Marseilles, a left-wing American business partner actually turned red when I referred to the president as "barack hussein obama." (no caps on purpose.)

Funny how it still turns “racist” and “right-wing” to call the POTUS by his own name, when a rabid left-winger hears it. I’d hate to hear this person’s views on “Palestine” or the “state” thereof.

Is he a Jew, or is he a decendant of the Edomites that were driven into Israel by the Roman’s? When Israel was later dispersed, the Edomites were also dispersed, and called themselves Jews.

If he replies, "to show respect", ask your putatively "jewish" business partner if he shows as much respect to Judaism, by acknowledging the sovereignty of Israel over the entire land of Israel, as referred to thousand of times in the Torah as well as in our traditional 3x/day daily prayers for the last few thousand years...

There are plenty of pictures of Obama in a yarmulke I could post here, but do you see, just from the purely logical point of view, that your comparison is erroneous -- that following one group's religious practices when you're in their places of worship isn't the same as committing yourself to major policy changes?
